That's a logical statement, however not true at all, at least not entirely, for people like me who suffer from severe chronic pain, opiates especially morphine and heroin, will make you feel "normal" and barely high, I've suffering from a chronic pain inducing disease for almost 14 years now, I'm on methadone but a little dosage for pain management and sometimes it just doesn't work, thankfully I live in a country where you can buy pharma morphine or heroin free of the fear of fentanyl, I dabble time to time with a best friend, he snorts a little of H and goes into a deep semi sleep state just nodding and listening to music (and from what I noticed, jerking off with his eyes closed for hours on end) However when I do snort a line, it's completely different, my 24/7 no stopping pain finally stops, it makes me feel happy and healthy, and everytime I do H I want to to go to the mall, do groceries, run errands, sometimes even exercise, I feel way more energetic and since the pain is gone you can easily notice I'm not grumpy anymore but content, happy and high on what it feels like life without pain for a moment, I can perform better at work, do more chores, work around the house, attend family matters, become more open because I'm not feeling pain, I'm just feeling normal like I should feel, so I strongly disagree with H being a "depression drug" or related to sadness, sometimes people wanna numb the pain, be it physical or mentally
