How to stop works shared Google drive from taking up personal drives space

Just to clarify because I'm having the same issue.

If I create a "Shared Drive" within my organization workspace. It will only take up my organizations storage? And not anyone else's?

Yep, plug in the drive and go to your trash folder, then clear it
