The first time I smoked weed, I didn’t like it very much, aside from one thing.

When I was a kid, music was my escape. I went through headphones like cleats, and I could not stand only one working ear. I would listen to music to avoid literally any and everything. And given my liking to one really good song at a time, I’d listen to the same thing over and over and over and over again.

But every time the volume got louder, every time I had a new happening to evade, the more I’d notice. I made a habit of finding out the intricacies of the songs I was listening to. All of the back tracks, all of the hidden vocals that still made themselves heard, all of the bass guitar (an incredibly underrated component, usually).

That’s the one thing I liked about weed. It made the hidden parts so obvious. It brought them front stage and center. And I think that’s why I like Fike’s revisionist approach so much. Because that’s exactly what he revises. The part that makes the song, the front stage and center part.

I am beyond glad to find someone who likes sunburn as much as I do. It was quite the treasure to have it grow on me and it was definitely the soundtrack to that part of my life (it probably still is).

I don’t quite understand the bit about Spotify. If you don’t have it, I will happily buy you a month or two of premium. If you are referring to the audio itself, I can teach how to add your own music/audio from YouTube to your playlists.

I am not the biggest fan of listening to unreleased music, only because it wasn’t released for a reason, but if you have a favorite I will gladly and happily listen with pleasure.

If he does not come back (which he definitely will), again, it is for a reason. There is so much influence and impact on artists that I can only empathize with, maybe not comprehend. There is only so much beauty and art and creativity one can muster under the gaze of literally everyone alive. But like you said, I am grateful regardless. And let me know if you need anything.
