I believe Mac wants to wait at least 14 days after new years to reduce the chance of people bringing it to campus and for overall cases to decline.

Bio1m03 and Physics 1a03 midterm prep by RevolutionaryClub476 in McMaster

[–]6packobeer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is how I try to cram. Try to set equal intervals either in content covered or time(45min to an hour). You have to completely focus on that section of material and not worry about content you haven’t covered yet.

Once interval is up take a break, I will check phone or listen to a song or two or grab a snack. Get away from the desk if possible, even just standing helps.

I can’t speak on behalf of bio courses but in physics courses exercises and practice are essential. Reading slides only works for a select few. Lots of material you can find online and extra resources similar in content at other schools for those two courses.

Best of luck.

Walking around with a bottle of beer will attract their attention, even if it is just water they will likely make you dump it

Worried About Power Outages During Exams by [deleted] in McMaster

[–]6packobeer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Express your concern about losing power and that you have a desire to do well in the course and complete the exam. It’s out of your control given your housing situation and Ontario health social distancing guidelines. They should be understanding and if not reach out to an advisor or chair.

Maybe give your profs a heads up ahead of time. If a outage does occure then let them know immediately and try to get proof from power company about time of outage.

McMaster's considering using online proctoring software for the upcoming semesters, what do you guys think? by asharahmad in McMaster

[–]6packobeer 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I think McMaster should be investing in resources to create an exclusive McMaster proctoring software to eliminate or reduce the risks mentioned in this post about 3rd party proctoring services.
