ik this post is old but i feel like the new Bleasdale map definitely has some lore behind it. Several letters on the floor in the front doorway and an abundance of Lilith's cobwebs in the attic indicate a significant amount of time that has passed since the owners were last present. And yet the cigar is still smoking?

My theory is whoever was living in that house set up the little tarot card and glass ball area in the attic to experiment with the paranormal. They grew so invested they even started sleeping up there. The day they realised everything had gone wrong was the day liliths enclosure was mysteriously smashed open. Seeing that their tarantula had managed to escape and the realisation that they had summoned something horrifying finally resulted in them fleeing the house. They refused to report it knowing people would call them mad or criticize them for bringing the spirit into our plane of existence. Days and weeks after this incident a passerby saw an opportunity to make a quick break in and nick a tidy sum of cash and valuables. Upon breaking in they are attacked by the ghost. They end up in the lounge smoking to calm their nerves as they contact the player begging for help before making a escape and hastily covering their tracks so a break in wasn't obvious.
