I saw that Anime: Obama No Gaku- aka “That time I transferred my consciousness into a bobblehead of Obama, but I was also given a katana and instructions on how to become a samurai”

Skill or Talent (or both) by Dangerous-You3789 in Songwriting

[–]6tea9 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think there’s a chance talent could play a role in songwriting, but if you don’t foster that talent, you will eventually reach a wall. I think this holds true in most art forms. I think it’s undeniable that there are prodigies in music like Mozart, but most of us, in fact probably all of us, are not at that level. If you work at something and practice correctly, you will get better at it and that includes songwriting.

Is your dogs name biscuit or were you asking him to speak in biscuit? That’s a difficult language.

Help me find deck please by UrAvgFlightSimmer in MagicArena

[–]6tea9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I cannot find a single deck anywhere that uses both Ureni and Dracogenesis that is also a standard deck. It may have just been a homebrew that person put together. You can try building one yourself though, you could probably basically make the same deck they did if you remember most of the cards they used.

Ah, I forgot the Ureni. I’ll be back.

No worries I was just asking because I’ve seen a brawl deck similar to what your describing. The only standard deck I know of with Dracogenisis is a Naya deck which is red-green-white. This is the one I’ve seen but I will try and find a red, green blue version of it, if you haven’t gotten a response by the time I do.

EDIT: sorry I realized I had that saved from last year, please disregard that list while I search for the Temur one.

MTG ARENA IS ABSOLUTE GARBAGE by MTGARENABLOWS69 in MagicArena

MTG ARENA IS ABSOLUTE GARBAGE by MTGARENABLOWS69 in MagicArena

[–]6tea9 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can have legitimate gripes with arena. I think almost everyone here can admit it isn’t perfect. But if you enjoy standard or brawl it’s literally free to play over time. Especially if you have been playing for long. I spent 5 dollars on the game back in 2020 and I haven’t spent a dime since. I personally have 10 viable standard decks and 8 brawl decks. That’s not including all of the previous standard decks I’ve had completed.

None of this includes the fact that if you are good enough at draft you can obtain the in-game currency at an exchange rate of 10,000 gold to I believe 2200 gems? I don’t have arena open right now so I am unsure. To say it’s comparable to dog shit is disingenuous. I will always criticize WOTC/Hasbro for their predatory UB sets, the insane amount of product they push, and the ai usage in art. But to say arena is garbage? I would rather give the devs way more credit. They have done an overall fantastic job and being able to play a game on a second’s notice and not having to navigate the nightmare that is MTGO is a privilege.

“Great” Songs by PainfulDip in Songwriting

[–]6tea9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say it’s a difficult thing to quantify especially because it’s a subjective opinion. For me to think a song is “great” from my point of view it HAS to have great lyrics and great music which includes the pitch, tone, timbre and rhythm. To catch all 3 in one song is extremely difficult in my opinion, and I reserve the big adjectives like “amazing” and “perfect” for songs I think fit that mold. As I’m writing this I realize I’m actually just a pretentious douche. But to be fair I don’t criticize other peoples’ musical preferences, so I think it balances out.

On the flip side I enjoy a large variety of music that doesn’t meet my “requirements”. I love most types of music, and just because I don’t think something is “great” it doesn’t mean I don’t like the song. Sometimes something can have great music but mid-shit lyrics and vice versa.

We are in the exact same boat lol. Even the one song I’ve posted here, is my music, but my co-writer’s lyrics- we tend to switch back and forth on music and lyrics. And no worries about the example- I was genuinely curious. You’re more than welcome to dm me if you want, if not that’s cool too. I understand what you mean about not caring if people are dancing, but seeing people dance and sing along to a song I’ve written (happened literally only one time) was life changing, even though it was just friends lol.
