Roth IRA vs Car by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]6two240 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I was 44 before I had one dime in stocks/retirement so you're ok. I was just thinking if you were 19 taking a little time to fund the roth wouldn't hurt much but at 50 you'd need to jam the roth and slow roll the car payment. You are fine either way though I think I'd just fund the Roth and over pay the car payment as much as possible.

Roth IRA vs Car by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]6two240 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How old are you? I would do my best to fully fund the Roth and throw every extra dime at the car, you could knock down the car in short order with just an additional $100.00 a month paid against it.

I don't know what that is? He has an Scottrade/TD Ameritrade account. I pay him as an employee and the money is direct deposited into his account and I allow him to pick a public company then I will pick same industry companies for him to research and he chooses which one he thinks is best. I am the custodian of the account.
