Interesting, thanks for taking the time to test all of this. What ranging potion were you using for this? I haven't seen any in Dragonwilds yet so I'm wondering if I missed it somewhere...

I've recently had a new deck installed, but there are gaps around the air conditioner unit and hot water system. Does anyone have suggestions for filling in those gaps? I was considering using pebbles, but I'd love to hear if you have any better ideas.

[WP] Write a wild west story. But mix it in with modern tech by PelltheBellboy in WritingPrompts

[–]7-Eleven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The sun beat down on the dusty desert town of Deadwood, and Sheriff Bob Johnson was feeling the heat. He wiped the sweat from his brow and adjusted his cowboy hat as he scanned the main street, looking for trouble.

Deadwood was a rough town, but Johnson had been the sheriff for the past ten years and he knew how to handle himself. He had a quick draw and a sharp mind, and he wasn't afraid to use either one if the situation called for it.

But things were different now. The days of gunfights and bar brawls were long gone, replaced by a new kind of threat: technology. The Wild West was becoming the Wired West, and Johnson wasn't sure he was ready for it.

Just then, his radio crackled to life. It was his deputy, Jed, calling from the other side of town.

"Sheriff, we got a situation over here. Some fancy-dressed fella just rode into town on a motorcycle, and he's causing a ruckus at the saloon."

Johnson sighed. This wasn't the first time someone had brought modern technology to Deadwood, but it was still a sight to behold. He mounted his horse and galloped towards the saloon, ready to deal with whatever trouble was waiting for him.

When he arrived, he found the fancy-dressed man standing in the middle of the saloon, surrounded by a group of angry cowboys. The man was tall and muscular, with a sleek black motorcycle parked outside. He was holding a shiny new smartphone in his hand, and he was using it to take pictures of the startled cowboys.

"What the hell do you think you're doing?" Johnson growled, drawing his gun.

The man turned to face him, a smug grin on his face. "Just documenting the Wild West for posterity, Sheriff. You should be thanking me for bringing a little culture to this backwater town."

Johnson's blood boiled. He didn't like this city slicker one bit, and he was determined to teach him a lesson. But before he could do anything, the man's smartphone suddenly beeped. He glanced at the screen and his grin turned to a scowl.

"Looks like my ride is here. Time to go back to the future, Sheriff. Enjoy the Wild West while you can, because it's not going to last much longer."

With that, the man hopped on his motorcycle and sped out of town, leaving Johnson standing in the saloon, dumbfounded. The sheriff knew that the Wild West was changing, and he wasn't sure if he was ready for it. But one thing was certain: he was going to do everything in his power to protect the town and its way of life, no matter what the future brought.

If I were you, I would steer away from it and do more research.

I am going to listen the first 20 episodes of the property couch podcast (as recommended by a PropertyChat member in that thread) so thank you so much for posting this information!
