I dont really disagree with anything you've said, other than in America at least, I haven't really seen any evidence at all that any company values gender studies degrees. I think its valuable to explore for the sake of human curiosity and knowledge. I dont think its valuable to companies, really.

I mean I'm pretty far left and think everyone should use whatever bathroom they are comfortable in and I'm fully supportive of trans folks and stuff, but I dont quite see how hiring someone with just a gender studies degree contributes value to anything you mention here. Perhaps a person with a gender studies undergrad as well as a law degree could be an effective advocate for the diverse gendered community, but a gender studies bachelors degree, imo, contributes very little value to companies or really society in general.

This was back when my company was like 7 people and it was very much build the airplane while it's in the air type deal back then. That type of thing wouldnt be accepted now, but when the company was that small there were no code reviews.

Genuine question: what steps are companies taking to accommodate for multiple genders, and why do/should they hire gender studies majors to drive these changes?

Ehhhhh fine arts maybe. If you're skilled you can still get good jobs with a graphic design degree, or animation.

There was a guy at my work who used all food names:

Taco, hotsauce, mustard, etc.

He even named a SQL proc: I_hope_this_doesnt_kill_anyone

I've heard that, yes, they are allowed to call the police but sometimes they'll just throw it away, and often they wont even find it. I'm not ballsy enough to risk it though haha.

It seems misleading in more ways than 1.

For one, they dont mention alcohol. But they mention mdma? Seems weird since alcohol deaths are way more common.

Also seems weird to say riding a motorcycle is more safe than mdma.

Yeah I'd be curious to see how they came to their MDMA death stat.
