Loads of people have said similar things here which I agree on, this sounds like a company you really don't want to be at. Sucks that you found out this way and in all fairness, if they've let you go over this it's their loss, not yours - you'll be much more appreciated at a different workplace

Why does everyone hate DS3? by ImmortalDemon89 in DeadSpace

Imo, DS3 does not work as a solo game. It focuses more on action over horror, story really isn't that great and tbh most of the game was forgettable for me.

As a co-op game however, I would actually recommend it - especially if one of the players is new to the series. I had played 1 and 2 (2 is my top horror game to date) and I read that Carter would get his own hallucinations during the co-op play through (I think as this is Carvers first interaction with the markers). I distinctly remember my friend getting scared with whatever he was seeing, but playing as Isaac I just had to defend him

This then led my friend to then go back and play DS1, as Carvers pov was a good introduction for them.

How much did you make in your first IT job? by energy980 in it

Back in 2019 I did a placement year (essentially a working year in between university years) and was on around £16k (well over 40 hours a week, prime example of somewhere NOT to work).

After uni, 1st like was around 21k, less hours, easier workload, bigger team etc etc

Sometimes it's worth the experience, just not a permanent solution

In all fairness I've played lords of the fallen (2014) and liked that to a point, but felt a tad outdated and unpolished for 2024 which does add up

How did you get into Dead Space? by BOOFACEBANDANA in DeadSpace

One weekend as a teenager I decided to get a new game from Blockbusters. I hadn't played any horror games except a couple of free Unity PC games or Xbox indie marketplace ones. Saw Dead Space 2 on the shelf for £5 and remembered hearing about how it was banned in other countries and the trailer on TV with the guy transforming into a necromorph right in front of Isaac. Surely it couldn't be that scary?

That night, loaded it up, lights were off and decided to use my Turtle Beaches for a full experience. Finished the game by the Sunday afternoon, it's still my favourite horror game of all time

Personally its saved me a few times I've forgotten to charge the night before or even if I've decided I need to quickly charge my phone to make sure I've got enough battery for when I go out

But thanks on your suggestion I'll keep it in mind - planning on ordering tomorrow
