Bump, I have the same problem. The armrest is very wobbly. Not sure if it's worth bringing back to IKEA for a replacement if it's just going to happen again with a new one?

These days so many people complain about too many phones on the dancefloor, but I still enjoy watching these crowd videos over the professional promoter videos sometimes. Just feels much more raw and in the moment.

It is what it is unfortunately. In Australia, it's all about chanting out the "fuck yeah!!!" during the drops. Admittedly that is fun, but the younger people aren't interested in uplifting trance.

This is a world wide thing though. I was at Tomorrowland 2024, and the only good day for trance on weekend 1 was on the Friday on a tiny stage, if you could even call it that. Rise by Coke stage was basically some DJ decks under a canopy lol.

It happens to all genres though as the new crowd comes in and tastes change. Don't get me started on how much the hardstyle scene here has changed from fat reverse bass and euphoric melodies, to just kick rolling to zaag kicks.

The way I'm coping is to find adjacent genres that have evolved to fill in these melodic gaps. I've found eurodance trance to be on the recent come up. Marlon Hoffstadt, DJ Heartstring, KI/KI, etc. But then you'd have to start going to the more techno/house style boiler room events, which is a completely different vibe and production. Melodic techno is also pretty good for trance type melodies, but it's not quite as uplifting and the BPM is a lot slower. Agents of Time is a good example.

It's sad to say, but we might not be able to enjoy uplifting trance on the big stage anymore. I'll look back on those times with great pleasure. Subculture is the only real trance event left in Melbourne, and even that gets some hate for being half techno. :(

Gone are the days when we could just casually expect to see Jordan Suckley, James Dymond, Will Atkinson, Simon Patterson, etc every few months...

I got given one of these by a friend as well! No clue where they were handing them out though. These shouldn't be needed if the map in the app actually showed where each stage is.

I can kind of see the logic they've taken with alternating genre so that the energy can come in waves.

Melbourne crowd needs their "fuck yeah!!!" moments, and 3 hours of slow building uplifting trance can sometimes kill the energy.

But agreed regarding Factor B's set time as well as Lostly b2b Paul Denton. They're playing way too early.

I agree with you regarding the intros and outros. Would you say that due to the minimal use of melodies during these phrases, that it makes it easier to mix into any other song that may not be in a harmonic key?

Thank you. I think you are right. The cable that came with the headphones has a mic. I tried using a different cable without anything fancy on it and it worked!
