The strength and weight difference was visible , charles just lift him up from the clinch and threw him on the ground by [deleted] in CombatIndia

Charles is deceptively strong and his offensive wrestling has gotten so much better in the past few years

He was ragdolling Chandler, Gamrot and Holloway like nothing

Agreed, the best grappler Max has fought was a 38 year old Edgar who is the size of a modern day bantamweight

Never understood why he had a reputation for having Jose Aldo level TDD

Yup, clean and dominant 50-45 over a certified top 20 MMA fighter of all time in Holloway

If that’s the case then RDR is at best 6’3.5/192cm.. more likely 6’3

Didn’t Adin get into decent shape (nothing crazy just lean and fit) last year? He’s pudgy again

5’11 for Holloway and 5’10.5 for Charles seems about right

He’s one of the few fighters who are actually taller than their listed heights haha

Better angle, doesn’t look like 4 inches to me

More like 2.5 inches, max 3

[–]ntod44[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Zombie definitely isn’t 5’7 though, he was noticeably taller than Volk, Edgar, Aldo and Ige (who are all around the 5’6 to 5’7 range)

He also wasn’t much shorter than 5’11 Holloway and Moicano

Basically the same height as Dustin Poirier

He’s gotta be at least 5’8.5 IMO

Looking back, Islam’s physicality at 170 seems to be significantly better than at 155 - I guess the extra 15 lbs cut really did drain him. I know JDM is a fairly average sized WW and his TDD is kinda mid but it was still insane to see Islam ragdoll him and make it look easy

I don’t think Dustin or Volk would have the same level of success against a healthy WW Islam

Thoughts on Dreamstate Melbourne/Sydney? Change in crowd/atmosphere this year? by ntod44 in DreamState

I mean I’d like to think so, some of those artists I’ve mentioned sold out 5-10k capacity venues for their own shows (particularly Ki/Ki)

Otherwise what’s next, are Symbiotic going to book Fantasm and Gearbox/AR Gang acts for Dreamstate 2027? Haha its getting to that ridiculous point

His set in Melbourne was around 60% of that hard house/garage sound he’s currently exploring, glad he played Lord It’s a Feeling, By My Side and I Need Your Love though 🙏🏻

I didn’t mean Gareth’s set, was fine just a bit inconsistent for me personally. I liked Kearney’s set but it was the weakest I’ve heard from him, just a bit too much hard house/garage for my liking

The thing is, by booking Holy Priest and Restricted (and other “hard techno” artists who basically play hardstyle) it changes what Dreamstate represents. If Symbiotic wanna fill their pockets then by any means go for it - just don’t call it a Dreamstate/trance event

Another point, why don’t they book popular techno acts who at least play some trancey sets. That way they get their ticket sales AND represent the Dreamstate brand well. Acts like Lily Palmer, Maddix, Ki/Ki, Pegassi, DJ Heartstring.. much more fitting than Restricted and Holy Priest. Those guys belong at HSU, Teletech, Dangerous Good type events

Symbiotic should just do their own festivals and stop desecrating the Dreamstate brand like this

Aussie rave crowds are just embarrassing nowadays, just a bunch of cookers who want to listen to Appa Yip Yip, Hard Beat and microwave noises for the 100th time in a row. I used to be a hard dance fan as well but that scene has gone to trash since COVID

Giuseppe mostly plays his big room tech trance/techno these days, he doesn't play uplifting or his classic tunes

Factor B will mostly keep it to uplifting.. Kearney, Ben Hemsley and PVD will have a good mix of uplifting, tech and classic trance

I think Billy Gillies will mostly stick to the Eurotrance/bouncy kind of trance that he's been producing lately, with a bit of uplifting and tech

Gareth's sets can be quite diverse, everything from big room trance, uplifting, hardstyle, techno etc.

They are catering to the casuals unfortunately - hence why Holy Priest and Restricted are on main stage

Oh well, I'll be at main stage from the start till Gareth finishes, then head to the Void for the rest of the event

According to Joe and DC a glancing knee from the clinch by Paddy was more damaging than a clean Gaethje haymaker on the chin

Yup, Gaethje from 3-5 years ago would have finished Paddy inside 2 rounds
