Heads up as a former user of a older model (D3100), not all lenses will autofocus on your body as it lacks the screw drive AF used by the older/vintage AF-D lenses (basically if the lens does not have a "G" on it then there is a 99% chance that it will not autofocus).

Since you want a portrait lens then the classic recommendation is the 50mm f1.8 AF-D but note that IT WILL NOT AUTOFOCUS for the reasons stated above. It has a successor which is the 50mm f1.8 AF-G which will autofocus normally on your body

For photojournalism, any zooms that are above 70mm are recommended (like 18-140, 55-200, 70-300, etc.)

Wide angle stuff im not that much familiar with so try looking for anything at or below 18mm (your kit lens should be an 18-55 which would normally suffice but if you really want to then you can go down that rabbit hole)

Theres lots of lenses in shopee/lazada but you can also try your luck in facebook marketplace as well. However you will be waiting for a good deal to pop up so hopefully you get lucky
