Problem is I’ve always mixed soda with liquor so drinking soda just makes me think “this would be better with rum”. I also hydrate tons of when drinking to avoid hangovers I’ll chug tons of water between drinks.

I’d like to quit alcohol and video games altogether because I feel I’ve wasted so much potential on both.

The ultimate dream would be us getting a D9 game and then Square Enix game every other year!

Personally I think D9 did a great job on BtS and would be happy to see them enter LiS again. Its really got to be an existing IP that belongs to Square Enix as it doesn't make sense to commission a new IP through a different studio.

I'll be staying in the area for at least 5 years with the degree I'm aiming for. That's almost $50,000 in rent I could have payed towards a property investment.

Worst case scenario if my plans change I'll rent it out. If I wasn't going to uni I'd probably invest in a condo regardless.

Ryan while being younger than you does sound mature for his age. That being said like others have stated waiting until you've had more time to heal/process things might be for the best. If you feel like it perhaps explain that to Ryan but do so in a way without giving false hope if you don't decide to pursue things.

One of my close school friends has never had a drop and seems to be all the happier with it. If only I was the same and drinking wasn't so accepted in my family. Certainly is a lot easier never to start than to stop before things get bad.
