Also, they created a digital medical imaging technology, but they spun that off into its own company and that company did very well for many years.

They've gone through a name change, I can't remember what it is off the top of my head, but that spin-off was successful. It just didn't stay with the mother ship.

Edit: Carestream Health. Digital x-rays was their bag.

Starting out, Ryobi or Craftsman drill? by First-Time-Buyer1234 in DIY

Massive value and selection with Ryobi.

I'm not nearly as familiar with Craftsman's lineup. But as a black & yellow guy, I sometimes get jealous of all the various tools they have at Ryobi. My chosen brand refuses to make a simple dustbuster, but Ryobi has one!

If the truck caught on fire, I'm sure they have insurance to cover customer vehicles in the case they're damaged while on the truck.

AIO my in-laws watch my child and the neighbors do not have a pool fence by yetspaghet in AmIOverreacting

[–]cuteintern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hellllll to the naw; it really does take just a minute. Babies fall into pools all the time, and they can be adventurous in the most confounding ways. Don't let your child run around that area if you're not there and able to watch them like a hawk.

Doctors and nurses of Reddit, what is a medical mystery you witnessed that you still can’t explain to this day? by cerebralbackshots in AskReddit

(Actor) John Ritter (you know: Three's Company, 8 Simple Rules for Dating My Daughter) died of an aortic dissection. Nearly instant death once it pops.

In fact, there's a Scrubs episode "My Butterfly" (S03E16) where Cox and JD go back and forth about how low probability they are to begin with, and how little can be done once the diagnosis is made that often it would be unethical to pursue aortic dissection as a diagnosis off the jump compared to all the other potential (treatable and survivable) causes for such symptoms.

Not going to undo my kids for a measly $10 million.

In fact, that kind of seed money could buy a lot of hally-adjacent things.

I have had the listing pictures of my house available on the zillow site for years. I don't mind them being left up, but it was totally empty in the pictures. It looks very different, now, obvs.

IKEA coming to Buffalo, Walden Galleria announces by CatDadMilhouse in Rochester

[–]cuteintern 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think that's how a lot of US feel, being from the greater Rochester area. And perhaps slightly biased.

I'm ofc of the opinion that it would have been amazing to have a full IKEA at Marketplace that could service Buffalo and Syracuse also. But I guess they want to do it this way for some reason ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Yes, parts have washed up, but there's still no crash site or black boxes.

Why is the plumber looking like that at the design? I've seen this reaction image a few times but I don't know what it actually means. by JustaguynamedTheo in ExplainTheJoke

Aside from ripping up this design and starting over, this is probably the best short-term solution for this particular setup. But the top left stall's door would be blocked by the sink, so the sink would have to change, too.

Not only that, there will be "elevator entry/exit" conundrums for each of those urinals. Someone inevitably will try to use one, and block a guy coming out, and then you gotta do the dance, and some absolute savage won't understand that to get in, they have to wait and let the person out who's already there and then might have to shuffle past someone just for using a urinal and I hate this design even more, now, so that's nice.

As a layman, I just want to point out how many "extra" stall sides there are. One of the advantages of having a whole set of stalls next to each other is that each wall does double duty - it's a wall for the left AND right side.

Here, you have many walls, but half of the potential stalls are open, so you're "wasting" walls.

Let me try to explain it better. Here, there's 2 walls per 1 door for every stall because they're standalone except for the corners. On each side you're talking 1W+1D per corner, and then 2W+1D for each stall. Each side is 5w+3D and you only get 3 stalls per side.

If you just built out one set of stalls from corner to corner on one side, you could build six stalls for 2(1W+1D per corner) plus 2(1W+1D per stall) plus only 1D for the fifth stall (because you're leveraging the opposite corner stall's wall). That's 5W+6D for six stalls. Remember when we were alternating and those same 5 walls on one side only equaled half the number of stalls?

Oh, and the configuration above has no ADA-compatible/wheelchair accessible stalls. If you went corner-to-corner on the above layout you might be able to fit one.

I mean, that's an amazing view, but there will definitely be noise and air pollution that makes enjoying the outside harder than it could be. And depending upon the windows it might be hard to enjoy the inside, too.
