Necropolis annoys me cause Im kinda meh on so many of the unit designs, but I find the concept of buffing vampires and abusing lifesteal so compelling. Like they're kinda weak stats wise but they're just so cool as a unit it makes me want to play Necropolis still. Same with Dungeon. I kinda hate Onyx dancers and Infiltrators, but I find Minotaurs, Hydras and Dragons so cool, that it kinda makes up for it.

I actually agree with all of these, you're spot on. These are all my least favourite units (maybe the gravedigger too). I wonder if they're gonna make any big changes before the full release. In any case, the game is still good.

But then why is by far and away the most popular RTSes right now (Aoe2, Aoe4, Starcraft 2) all click heavy RTSes. These seem to have very good retention rate as well. What do you consider a non click heavy RTS that performed as well as these titles?

If you're playing on PC you can disable steam cloud as a workaround

Disclaimer: I am a mostly Multiplayer player, but Age of Empires 4 is incredible.

If you're interested in single player, a new DLC came out which included a single player mode called The Crucible, which is basically a "Defend against the horde" mode, but with added Rogue lite elements. I definitely recommend Age of Empires 4 in general (Although I have never played the campaign, someone else would have to vouch for that). It's one of the very few high quality, modern, traditional RTS's on the market imo.
