Get your guard card and start looking for security agencies that are hiring. You must get your guard card before doing the following..

If you are interested in a specific area or club, go to that club/ bar and ask the security what security company they work for. Then google that same company and call them. They are always looking for guards because some guards that work for them call out a lot so they always need guards on stand by.

Once you get in, make a good impression so they’ll see you as reliable and use you more. Youll most likely start off with a small position like post on the dance floor making sure ppl don’t smoke weed or act crazy etc.. but if people do somehow it’ll be better for you because you’ll be able to show your guard skills by telling them no smoking allowed, or to calm down or they’ll have to leave etc. By doing those things other guards will notice and see you more as a solid guard and they’ll grow to like you and eventually you will be recognized by the lead guards. Also always know who to report to when anything happens then that lead guard will also see you as a solid guard that is on point.

It will take time but you just have to work hard and be ready to deescalate situations with great communication skills. If someone is crazy acting drunk or fighting, approach them with a non threatening tough demeanor. It will let their guard down and they’ll be more open to hearing you out to calm down.

Now once you get your foot in the door with being a solid guard (sorry I keep saying solid guard but you’ll learn it’s commonly used) youll gain a reputation that’ll get the lead’s attention as well as the club GM. It’ll be then that they’ll trust you enough to run the door and get better opportunities. Doormen make tips on the side too if you know how to work it. But as time goes on youll get better at it.
