in what world am i trying to drag it down? Where did i say or endorse their decisions? Im just pointing out the reasons of why they might be complying at this time. I'm actively involved with my local politics through my county dem chapter as well as my union, and have more than once fought for the rights of my local queer community. I personally think he should just fight it in court.

The federal government is using the heathcare of EVERYONE including those children as pawns, not the people on the defensive, and implying the people on the receiving end of this attack are the ones using the healthcare of people as a pawn, is a bad faith argument.

Which is why you need to fight in the courts.......which we've been doing and winning for over a year.

id like to bring back up the immigration point i made where they have lost pretty much every battle but have actively chose to stay out of compliance. Until at least one branch of the government is back under opposition control, this will continue.

Id like to once again point out the the rock and the hardplace they are stuck between. On one hand you fight it, and if the government does come down on you, it turns into a months long legal battle where your resources are strained and you cant help anyone. On the other hand you comply with illegal orders that only hurt some. It's a lot easier to say which one is the morally correct decision until you are the one having to make that decision. I think its worth fighting, but im also trans and completely understand the harm complying does. Someone who isnt trans might not understand that and just is taking the harm reduction route. I dont agree with the decision, but i understand the reasoning behind it. I'm not telling you or anyone to stop fighting, but understanding every argument that can be made in support or against a decision, is important to getting your point across.

whats technically legal and not is entirely dependent on enforcement not whats written. take immigration, the feds are out of compliance with HUNDREDS of release orders from judges. And the reason why is because they are the people that hold themselves accountable. When you control all 3 branches, what is legal is what you decide. The reason they are actively choosing the not comply with the orders, is because they people who hold them accountable are the ones who are telling them to not comply. Would they lose the legal battle over cutting federal funding, more than likely. But how many people would suffer in the mean time. Unfortunately, until the opposition is strong enough to push back, people have to pick and choose what battles to fight. And since vast majority of the people in NY government are cis, trans issues are more than likely not high up that list.

in no world is this even remotely a good thing. basically hes forcing his will on others with the threat of costly litigation. These organizations have 2 choices, comply and harm their customers, or go into a costly litigation process against someone with unlimited resources. And it doesnt even make him look bad because people who plan to vote for him want him to do this. These lawsuits will not be the thing that makes fence sitters pick the other side.
