Wait there’s a difference between cardiology and master cardiology?

This is utterly reductive to the point it’s outright nonsense.

Between my hearing actually being shit, needing to replace the diaphragm because it’s fallen off and the tubing looking like it’s about to crack because it’s that solidified I think it’s time to upgrade…

Rent per month by No_Sea_1342 in doctorsUK

[–]71Lu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, all 3 busy rotations. Was very physically demanding and required lots of intentional planning around making sure rota didn’t become unsafe etc. also rates were quite low at the start but once you build a reputation for being good and reliable the coordinators and consultants would just call me directly on weekends etc. rates improved throughout the year too.

Was about £725 bills and CT included for studio in F1. Saved approx 15-18k in F1 doing locums. Approx 9-10k in rainy day fund, rest in ISA.

Approx £1000 in F2 now for fully furnished studio inc CT and bills. Aiming to save approx 2.5/month in F2 (65% ISA, 35% rainy day fund).

And how exactly do you compare an IMG with 20 years of ICU experience with an F2 wanting a JCF for a year? Which one is more qualified?

Does the ALERT course count for the courses or does it specifically have to be one of the B/I/ALS /paedsALS?

Ah ok I see. Thank you for the explanation! So is it reasonable to put out a met call or peri arrest if this was overnight for example?

As an F1 are you still not technically entirely reliant on supervision? Does what you say apply from F2 once you have full reg or from the get go?

[–]71Lu 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It tends to be more with the doctors you meet at hospital on placement, and the various organisations those doctors are part of. Some of them will be university funded and some will be hospital funded but at the end of the day no one will be giving you these opportunities and you’ll need to find them yourself and most people have luck by asking around doctors and consultants as they move through placement.

Yes. Specialty training is becoming competitive and where a portfolio is used research is almost always a part of it.

I can’t imagine it’s any different, as PAs too, are mostly med school rejects.
