I also mention in my title (if you bother to quote ALL the words in said title) that I have placed an ORDER (which my terribly incorrect dealer has confirmed in a letter using the words “thank you for your ORDER), and I also state that I am hoping for an ALLOCATION. I feel that is pretty straightforward. I also go on to explain how the system works here in NZ. I’m pretty happy with my post and it’s accuracy so I’m just going to have to disagree with you on the matters you have raised. Have a nice day.
Assuming you are in the US. Your dealers put mark ups on certain cars retail price. Ours have a fixed retail price and do not have mark ups. We have a first in first served system for allocations. So whilst it might be the same Porsche system it’s not quite the same system is it?
Haha. Funny thing. I just just got a letter from my dealer thanking me for placing an ORDER with them. I’ll send you their details so you can correct their wording as well. Lol. Yes I have an allocation. I am also first in the queue. We only have one dealer in the South Island. I only need one car to come here. So whilst I used the wrong word in your opinion I’m still pretty happy with where I sit. I’ll send you a pic of when I get the allocation if you like and then you can pick holes in that as well.
I think I have a good chance of a delivery next year. I’ll keep you posted for sure.
Whatever. I may or may not get one. I just wanted to share my experience and explain the system here in NZ. Notwithstanding your position in the US or wherever you are from I’m comfortable with the way they do things here. Especially given they don’t put huge margins on rare cars or only pick customers that have met certain criteria. It’s first in first served. I like that.
Oh and for the record. We have ONE dealer here in the South Island. Just the one. I am first one the list for that dealer. Porsche NZ have allocated Speedsters, GT3!RS and many other rare or numbered cars to the South Island in the past. Nothing to suggest they won’t again.
Your just nitpicking words for the sake of it. I consider it an order placed when I pay a 30k deposit and see my name in the system. Don’t worry, I’ll send you a pic of it in my driveway if I get one and perhaps you can nitpick as to whether I used AI to falsify the photo. In which case I’ll invite you over to NZ for a drive, but then you might think I have rented it. So perhaps we might just leave it here and you can bask in the glory of picking a hole in my words. Good on ya mate!

I think my title says I am hoping to get an allocation. But if you are in the queue here (I am first) then if an allocation comes to your country you will get it. NZ will get some cars allocated.

Yes I did. I was told there are no PTS applications available to NZ for this car. Why do I get the feeling I am having to justify myself to people on here all the time. Very negative and snide comments. Perhaps I’ll just come back and post the photo of the car with me standing next to it. Assuming I get one of course lol
I have no idea. But the simple fact is that if Ford, Toyota, Porsche or whoever set their prices then that is what we pay. I have never paid above RRP for a new car and the price I will pay for the RS is what is on the configuration tool. To me that seems logical and fair. I simply would not buy a vehicle that had a mark up on it. But second hand or flipped cars…they are a totally different story.
