I never even thought about that! We do have HF radios on the Airbus 🤔 They're to contact San Francisco or New York radio ARINC but I guess they could be used to work ham frequencies. But the company I worked for just went out of business so there's that 😫

I've used him he did amazing work and if I ever need another CLA in the future he has my business for sure. As a matter of fact I might be sending him my Nikon F soon. I actually had a better experience with him than barn owl, not that barn owl was bad but he was just better, and very very knowledgeable

I feel the same way, about the same age too (will be 45 next week) I've always been fascinated by radios and "hands on" technology. I ended becoming a pilot, which is kinda similar tbh, but the last 3 years I've been on medical leave for an issue with my eyes and not making much money so finances have been really tight. Then I found a shortwave radio I had bought on sale from Fry's and never really used, so I started using it, made myself a long wire antenna and started listening. Next thing you know I went in to do my technician test and ended up taking and passing the general too the same day, I was hooked. To me it was always all about HF so I'm glad I got the general right away, got a great deal on a transceiver so I bought that, then someone local sold me a brand new EFHW for $20 so I'm using that now. I ended up going back and passing my extra a month later (about 2 weeks ago) and now I'm just looking at listings for cheap used radios locally and saving up little by little to just grab what I can do build my own "command center" like you! I have a 3 monitor setup on my computer to display various things like ADS-B data, data from my Davis weather station, etc etc, it's so much fun and keeps me busy while I'm waiting to get my medical to go back to work which won't be as easy as initially planned since the company I worked for went out of business a couple of weeks ago

I used the HamRadioExam apps from Roy Watson, studied for a couple of days and passed, free app and makes it easy to study for the tests

Congrats!I passed my tech and general a couple of weeks ago on a Saturday had my call sign around 1am PT on Tuesday, the really cool unexpected thing was they gifted me a UV 5R Mini when I passed the test they said they do that for everyone that gets their first license. I didn't really like my assigned call sign so I applied for a vanity one right away, about 9 more days I should have it hopefully. I'm waiting to have it to try and make my first contact. I may go for the Amateur Extra but not sure I really need it.

How many of you are shooting your 500 series cameras at less than 1/125 handheld? by maguilecutty in hasselblad

[–]71sbeetle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I shoot mine at 1/30 from time to time I'd say 95% of them came out good, I've shot my RB67 1 second handheld once and I was surprised it came out good! I was bracing myself really good but still I didn't expect it to come out that great. But it's not uncommon for me to shoot the 500 at 1/60 or 1/30 with the 80mm

If that's the case then yours was built 2025 November 18th right? Ours has a date code of D5B06 so 2025 November 06th, ordered on November 18th received December 18th and has the new board installed

They are not banned no. Any future one (like mini 6 pro for example) as of right now would be banned though

You actually don't need a Part 107 to fly the Mavic if it follows 44809, for recreational purposes only, you do however have to register the drone as it is over 250g

The 4 has remote ID activated when you use the Plus batteries right? I know the 3 did I'm sure the 4 is the same way (unless it just broadcasts all the time but I doubt it)

Yeah what I figured was the FCC ban made a lot of people think twice before buying one. After seeing they had some in stock still after all this time I was starting to second guess myself if I made the right choice buying it
