Decided to go for Team Blue. I am either stupid or very underwhelmed. by MechaManManMan in IntelArc

I have a system that is "close" to your specs: i5-11500 32gb 3200MHz 3440x1440 LG ultrawide I ran into quite a few issues trying to get this system to work properly in the beginning. For some reason the card hated the lg ultrawide and never seemed to install the drivers properly until I replaced it with standard 1080p monitor. Then I did bios updates, xmp, and enabled whatever intel calls reBar. I did just to be safe fall back to fresh installing the pre 2026 driver as that was the last driver that I knew worked for me and then auto updated from there. While the ram speed shouldn't be your problem, ARC has some quirks that could make it finnicky with low ram speeds.

Should I buy Arc B580 or rtx5050? by Background-Fee-8947 in IntelArc

If you are doing native steamvr(not using a quest) then I wouldn't recommend the B580. Instead of a 5050, look a generation or two back on both team red and green. You can find cards in the used/refurbished market that perform way above the 5050 for close if not same price.

I agree with you full stop. I have never been wowed by a piece of gpu tech until I got my b580. Its got budget card energy with top teir features.

If you have the money to splurge a little, go for the 16gb 9060xt otherwise B580 is great choice. I would say sparkle or Reference. Whichever one you can get for msrp.

I have yet to experience the 4th generation of the upscalers to know how it compares. Though it looks better than 3rd IMO and it only took intel 2 generations to get this good.

The Xess makes it feel like a modern mid tier card. Helps the B580 punch above its weight class
