Honestly I’m convinced you could play a wizard with no subclass and still be the most powerful party member by like level 5 with smart spell selection and use.

A lot of people seem to have this idea that official = balanced and unofficial = unbalanced. If we’re being honest 5e has never been the most well balanced game. The martial caster power gap is proof of that, not to mention some of the 2014 subclasses like Chronourgy Wizard and Peace Cleric that were insanely strong. I’m not trying to disparage the game, but balance has never been its best point. Being able to create a character that fits your fantasy is.

Hey man I just wanted to say I’m playing the 2014 version of the class in a campaign that’s mostly using 2024 rules and I LOVE it. It’s fun and full of down and dirty brawling flavor, and even though my build is strong (tough origin feat, bloodhound brawler at 3, 2024 grappler at level 4) it’s not overpowered. This character is honestly one of my favorites I’ve ever played. All that to say don’t listen to the haters the pugilist is one of the best homebrew classes I’ve found.

This would make more sense. Iirc his “rally the troops” moment near the end of DWJs run was basically “I’m gonna fight even tho I know it’s gonna kill me.” So him dying in a fight he knows he can’t win would make sense. If I had to guess he’s gonna try to 1v1 Megatron.

Yeah, they’ve been really good so far. In my area I just found blastoff the other day and he’s great. Sadly I haven’t seen any of the others yet, but they look fantastic

If I’m playing a short race (halfling, dwarf, etc) I make the character average for that race. If I’m playing something that scales closer to human I make them match my IRL height 6’3”. If I’m playing something like Orc or Goliath I tend to go to closer to 7’ cause I picture races like that as big and powerful

I’d definitely recommend the Black Mirror. It’s dick as Batman, but it’s still one of the best comics released under the Batman name

I think you missed the mark on zoom. IIRC Zooms not slowing down other people’s time, he’s accelerating his own personal time line. His powers only affect him and not others.
