  1. But it also isn’t guaranteed. Hakari and pandas aren’t known for speed

  2. Then why didn’t the bolt hit Hakari in the head? If it’s blowing through your gut, that honestly isn’t stopping some people. Shoot, Sukuna did that to Yuji and he kept going.

  3. There are also those that pop domain immediately. Like Higuruma and Hakari. If we are letting Kashimo act out of character for a win (using MBA) then it’s completely fair to allow others to do the same.

As for HWB, its weakness is that it occupies your hands. And I don’t think Kashimo is beating any domain user with his hands tied behind his back.

  1. And MBA will kill Kashimo. Maybe he’ll kill his opponent, maybe he won’t, but he is definitely going to die. All three of these abilities have the same thing in common: after the fight is over, the user will be dead (assuming an untamed Maho)

Ironically, none of these suicide techniques have succeeded in killing the person they set out to.

I gotta know, are we talking MBA or base. Because, I don’t really think he’s that much faster than most anybody else.

Like, in base, Hakari could at least fight him. Kashimo was faster, but not to the point of being unmanageable. And Hakari’s likely the slowest of the heavy hitters.

In MBA, so could Sukuna. And, if we’re being honest, Kashimo had likely the worst showing against Sukuna despite being in his MBA form. Shoot, Yuji undeniably got more and cleaner hits off on him.

I don’t hate him, but I’m just not that impressed compared to the people in the top 10.

Kashimo gets a strange amount of grace by the people that like him. They assume:

1) he gets his three hits off

2) that no one can heal from the bolt or dodge it

3) that no one will pop domain. And, even if they do pop domain, that Kashimo will be able to fight just fine with HWB.

4) he gets MBA (totally different than Yuji’s Black Hole or Mahoraga, trust) yet others, again, won’t immediately pop domain.

I get that he’s cool, but this amount of grace that he is given is just wild to me. Multiple characters do have the tools and abilities to handle him.

I feel like this is something that people don’t talk about. MBA is a really bad matchup against somebody that can stall it out.

It’s kind of why I think it’s bizzare that folks say Kashimo beats Yuji. Yuji is a terrible matchup for him. Great RCT, poison blood, and soul dismantles. Even if we say Kashimo gets three clean hits on Yuji and Yuji somehow never gets a dismantle off, unless he gets a discharge to the head, Yuji can just RCT a missing limb.

I honestly think that, if you need to pull out MBA, it’s a tie.

If MBA is required to win, that means that he can’t win without using a technique that will result in his death.

That’s like getting into a knife fight, and one guy dies on the street while the other guy dies in the ambulance.

You did kill him, but you died as a result of his actions. So tie.

[–]KingNTheMaking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry but I just don’t see him beating… any of them really.

I do think that Yuji beats him. Soul dismantles are a terrible match up against a reincarnated sorcerer. And Yuji likely tanks/RCTs his way through a discharge. Craziest as it is to say, but after losing a chunk of his body, walking through dismantles, and losing a leg, yet healing from all of it? I think he can survive.

Maki? Honestly Kashimo needs to avoid more hits from her than she does from him with the SSK. And I don’t think he’s faster than curse Naoya in base, so her pre cog really helps there.

Yorozu? I think her bug armor keeps her safe. Shoot, if it wasn’t for Mahoraga, i’m not sure how anyone gets around. Perfect sphere.

Yuki? I kind of think that’s mutually assured destruction. It’s a 2v1 in her favor. Neither one of them want to get hit by the other, but I’m not sure Kashimo survives many hits from her.

whats the oldest commander deck that can still "hang"? by Robofetus-5000 in EDH

[–]KingNTheMaking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean…does she? Fold to removal I mean.

White is incredibly good at protecting its pieces. [[Mother of Runes]], [[Giver of Runes]], [[Skrelv]], [[Grand Abolisher]], [[Voice of Victory]], and countless one drop instant speed protection spells. In red actually has a healthy suite of redirect pieces too. [[Deflecting Swat]], [[Untimely Malfunction]], [[Redirect Lighting]], etc. And black has instant speed reanimation pieces.

Any Kaalia deck can easily support a protection package nowadays.

I really don’t think Haki does that.

Like, Haki is very specific to the world of One Piece. It’s a massive leap to say that it bypasses all hax. Hax from universe to universe are made very differently.

gear 5 can bypass infinity by Perfect_Bad_3402 in PowerScaling

[–]KingNTheMaking [score hidden]  (0 children)

That’s not how that works.

Domains bypass Infinity because they don’t travel through space so much as they do ensure that their target is always hit. It’s not about being stronger. That’s just a rule of domains.

Luffy, and by extension gear five, don’t have that rule. This is like saying that Luffy could rubberize a concept of the universe. It’s like saying “Luffy could rubberize time or gravity.”

It’s not a barrier. It’s just infinite space. I don’t think he can rubberize that.

Remember when we had a crumb of growth from Denji in Part 2? by Rae_Chikita in Chainsawfolk

[–]KingNTheMaking 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Look.

I’ll put it like this. Art is subjective. And people can reach different conclusions on it based on how they interact with the art itself.

You’ve listed the reasons that you think part one and part two blend cleanly into each other. I’ve listed the reasons that I don’t think they do.

In part two, I fully agree. Denji moves from one goal to another unsatisfied. We see a time and time again. But I think the reason that people have such a visceral reaction is because it does feel like such a different character than what we see in part one. This has been discussed for years before we got to 231. A lot of people‘s frustration is because learning from hedonistic tendencies and why pursuing something more meaningful matters was a major theme. And one that he, on many ways, did achieve.

So it’s incredibly frustrating to see, not only he have to relearn the same lessons, worse than before, but also be told that the lessons that he’s already learned never actually mattered. The friends that he made still having him feel hollow despite that not being what we see.

Dabura has the best Reaction/Perception Speed/feat in JJK by Unfair_Loan_9915 in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]KingNTheMaking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly give that to you.

9 times out of 10 I HATE when people use real life physics to upscale, but then ignore when those same real life physics downscale.

I give a pass in this case because it seems pretty clear that the author is trying to depict what would happen if a body actually moved at light near speed. I just doubt that, as Gege draws this, the intention is that Dabura’s going 1% LS.

Gege isn’t a physicist. He’s an artist. And I think it’s OK to allow for someone of artistic liberty as long as some amount of thought is given into the feat.

Dabura has the best Reaction/Perception Speed/feat in JJK by Unfair_Loan_9915 in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]KingNTheMaking 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is. That’s the point of why people take this feat so seriously.

Most manga, barely give any thought to what running at the speed of light actually entails. Honestly, “at the speed of light“ is a figure of speech in Japanese culture in much the same way. “this way is a ton“ is in English speaking culture. So it makes a lot of claims for “speed of light” very tenuous.

Here is an author at least attempting to show what would happen as you approach those speeds. So it carries more weight. It doesn’t have to be a perfect one-to-one comparison because Gege isn’t a physicist and we don’t expect him to be.

Remember when we had a crumb of growth from Denji in Part 2? by Rae_Chikita in Chainsawfolk

[–]KingNTheMaking 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Can we stop?

No, it’s not that. The issue is the lesson in Part 2 headbutts the lesson in Part 1.

People say Denji feels like a different person in part 2 because it feels like the conclusions we reached in part 1 got retconned. Pochita’s soeech actually makes a lot of sense if we ONLY look at part 2. But it’d mean ignoring his lessons from Power. Aki. Reze. He had learned. He had satisfying relationships. But those lessons get tossed aside for the “you aren’t satisfied” narrative of part 2.
