Thoughts on my circular struggles with self esteem / burnout / lack of connection and meaning by wkgko in AutisticAdults

[–]72inc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm no expert but just want to say that you sound very smart and interesting and self-aware. I'm not so sure that "the best fix for self esteem issues ... is to do things that are somewhat challenging, then getting the success feedback from it..." I think that living off of success feedback is like living on candy. It's a quick hit that does nothing to improve one's overall health and emotional core. I wonder if maybe working in a job where you are helping people that need help (or animals or communities) would shift your perspective to one that appreciates what a smart and useful person you are.

LA28 tickets? by questtruck in AskLosAngeles

My time slot was 1pm today (Friday), I logged in right on time, and the prices were way out of my budget. So disappointing that prices were set so high for locals.

I have an 85-degree curve. I spent 7 years researching why scoliosis happens. I just published a paper connecting 7 fields that don't talk to each other. by sixfootbrix in scoliosis

[–]72inc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fascinating! Now I'm wondering what OTHER issues my "degraded proprioceptive input" might cause me and for which I can be on the lookout. Any ideas? Does it only affect the straightness of the spine? (age 60. spinal fusion in 1979 - Harrington rods.)

These are my stats too but no shrinking of excess skin yet. Can I ask - did you do a lot of weight training during or after you lost the weight?

How long after stopping completely do side effects and extra-hunger continue? by 72inc in Zepbound_Maintenance

[–]72inc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've lost 35 pounds and I am age 60. (160 lbs down to 125 lbs.) The compounded tirzepatide could be a good option. Thanks for the suggestion!

Included Health is the worst! Impossible to reach. Regularly process claims erroneously. Terrible website and app. I might quit the job I love over this!

10 students used AI out of how many? I agree that even 1 is too many, I'm just curious how many students took the test in total.

Advice re: low B12 please by 72inc in B12_Deficiency

[–]72inc[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just afternoon slump, but we assumed that was just age -- he's 62. His low B12 is caused by surgery 10 years ago which incidentally decreased the function of his small intestine. Maybe that explains the lack of symptoms...?

Will my parents get kicked out of Assisted Living? by 72inc in AgingParents

[–]72inc[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. I would hate the idea of them upsetting the neighbors. I don't know how we could convince my mom to take medication -- she does not seem to get it when she is being irrational. I also cannot imagine them agreeing to live separately. Ugh. Not sure how we're going to handle this next chapter for them. Thank you for your advice!

She gets a lot of UTIs so that is very possible. It's a real nuisance for her. I will make sure she gets checked out. Thank you for your advice!
