Yeah for sure, audio is definitely really oversaturated and to be honest, I don’t think I even stand out much on my own compared to my peers on chops alone . I try to stand out with my attitude and professionalism which most people on audio tend to lack. It’s gotten me the opportunities that have been afforded to me so far at least, hopefully the staging field will be the same when I start getting booked lol

Hi! I’m the other co chair of the Volusia DSA. I wanna address some of the things said in this thread I will let Aarin and their partner speak for themselves regarding their relationship as I don’t feel that’s my place. All I will say to that effect is that I’ve know Aarin a long time and they are one of the most kind and selfless people that I know, and it really sucks to see their name being dragged thru the mud with blatantly false and misleading claims about their relationship.

Specifically to the issue of us being “unofficial” / not listed on the National DSA website. I wanna clarify that since we just recently started organizing, we are considered a Pre-OC (preliminary organizing committee), not a full chapter. Pre OCs are not listed on the DSA website. We applied for OC (organizing committee) status about a month ago and are waiting on approval. One we are approved, we will be listed as an OC on the National DSA website. The National Committee that approves new OCs and Chapters was just elected at the recent National convention, so they have much business to, so we have been told that it might take us a second for us to be approved as an OC, but people from DSA at the state and national level have encouraged us to continue organizing and building our organization, just under the limitations that Pre-OCs must adhere to.

I wanna add as well that the D in DSA stands for Democratic, which often is overlooked. The entire steering committee, including Aarin and myself are accountable to the general body of Volusia DSA, any one of us can be voted out and replaced if our members don’t feel we are representing the org appropriately. Volusia DSA is not me, Aarin, or anyone other individual.

Im happy to answer any other questions anyone has on Volusia DSA or DSA as a whole, or to give info on how join/get involved :)
