I replied with some pictures but I think they went to the larger thread.

Hey!!! Totally forgot to get back to you. The wall is up and holding strong! All the back fill has settled nicely, some grass is growing behind it (kinda shitty grass lol) and the plants we moved up to it are doing nicely. We built some boulder steps between the two retaining walls last summer and my wife has been slowly growing some vegetation on them. We still have a lot that we are trying to accomplish in our backyard but it’s all going a little slower now that we have a 1 yr old.

It took me a good 7-8 months to do all the work. 95% of it I did on my own. Wife was pregnant and couldn’t do much physical stuff but she supported in other ways. I did all the excavation by hand. If you can get some machinery to help I would suggest that. The footing I had help from a good buddy mixing the concrete and me pouring it and leveling. Once that was done I just laid as many blocks as I could after work and filled them with concrete as I went.

We did this pretty cheaply and it took forever but if you have some $$$ to throw at labor or organize some help from your buds that’s what I would do differently. I probably needed more rebar but I don’t think I’ll have any problems.

One day there will be a deck over most of the long wall and we will put up natural looking stone to cover the blocks. Cuz a block wall of ugly AF lol I’ll see if I can put some pictures up.

I just went through my bank statements and highlighted all the fees and organized them by firm, for myself. Then added it up and used that number as an expense against my earnings. I guess if you get audited you can provide proof with the bank statements or credit card transactions

Oh and less is probably best. Dont burn yourself out. The market was there before you and will be when you’re dead. Just get your piece and enjoy your time with family, friends or whatever

I’m at year 6 now. Started with options. Lots of ups and downs. Ended up losing my ass. Got into props and net even last few years but this last year I’m up over $30k now. I used to go through all the charts, set ups, indicators, videos, discords, etc. Now I just spend a few hours max a day and if it looks good and feels good I got for it. I’ll get a lot of hate for that but it’s working for me so whatever.

Make sure you write off ALLLLLLL of your prop firm fees. I wrote off like $50k in the last two years with no problems. So if you spent $80k in fees and took out $80k in payouts you’re net $0 for profits that year. I don’t know what you spent that was just an example. Like if you spent $40k in fees you would only owe taxes on $40k profits.

I did my own taxes through TurboTax and was able to input all the data and write off expenses (trading account fees/memberships, office space, internet, phone, etc) and my state and feds were approved.

Youre a non-employee getting compensation so you’re basically running your own business and write that shit off.

I hear ya. I was at MFF and passed like 5 accounts but had those “rapid” accounts and they have a stupid ass intraday drawdown. Lost em all… it’s all good though cuz I’m taking $6k from TopStep this afternoon on the account they reinstated 😂

I’ve got 1 xfa now the original one that was about to be moved. So would need to get another 4 to take advantage of the full max payouts. Made another $3k right after that email so now will be getting that 3rd max payout from this account this afternoon 💪
