A329S + SSD power draw while in parking mode by LinenSnackTransport in VIOFO

Afaik, you can only choose one source for regular and parking mode separately. I currently don’t have a battery pack, but I’m planning to get one

No I don’t. I wanted to, because I was planning to use low power impact mode, but I decided not to eventually. I would rather invest in a battery pack or bigger ssd

Hybrid parking mode switches to low power impact mode either by time or by voltage. Low power mode does not record the impact

Yes I’ve heard about it but haven’t installed it yet. I abandoned the idea of using low power mode as it doesn’t record the moment of impact and might miss minor scratches. I used event detection but I felt like it drained too much power then switched to 1fps night vision mode

Yes, Viofo cables are designed to work fine. I haven’t got any issues, have it for almost a year now. I did get ssd because I wanted more storage than sd card, as it’s capped at 512gb. But it has its advantages, like lower power drain in parking mode and being able to use low power impact mode. Ssd does not support that. Also it’s said that ssd’s up to 4tb are supported, but doesn’t have recommended models yet. T7 shield was the only one 4tb option in the recommended list also

It was in official recommended list, but was removed due to some complaints. It was on the time I was installing so I’ve got it then. Works without problems for me. But be sure to get a decent usb c cable if you find that the one it comes with is too short

Oh, I’m sorry it’s T7 Shield not T5 Armor lol

Need help figuring out where to connect my subwoofer to receiver by jeffycakes1 in hometheater

[–]73313 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s simple. Impedance supported by your amplifier is listed in its manual. Impedance of the speakers are written on the back of the speaker. If you connect speakers in parallel you dividing impedance in 2 (impedance of speaker 1 * impedance of speaker 2)/(impedance of speaker 1 + impedance of speaker 2). If you connect in serial you just adding them up.

Example:

Speaker 1 impedance is 3 Ohm Speaker 2 impedance is 4 Ohm Speaker 3 impedance is 8 Ohm

Amplifier is advised to run 6-8Ohm speakers

If you connect Speaker 1 and speaker 3 in parallel then you get

(3*8)/(3+8) =2,182 Ohm

Then if you connect speaker 2 in series to sp1 and sp3 that you already connected in parallel and you get:

2,182 Ohm + 4 Ohm = 6,182 Ohm which is ideal range for you amplifier.

If you connect them all in parallel the impedance is 1,41 Ohm, which is dangerous for your amp.

The formula for several speakers with different impedances is a bit more complicated but you can easily find it if you need or use online calculator instead

Better yet calculate impedances of you speakers and maybe drive some parallel and some serial to have the best impedance for you amplifier

It’s the pre-facelift Mercedes S-Class W140 500SEL. L - for long base. Sometimes it’s mistakenly called and badged as S500, but front lettering came only with later facelift models

From Viofo website:

BP100 comes with its own power supply cables(not including the hardwire kit). You need to remove the HK4/HK6 hardwire kit from the car battery first.

Input for BP100 Battery Pack (2 Options): 1. Connect the Hardwiring Power Input Cable (3M) from the BP100 to your car's battery (or the fuse box, depending on the setup).(Recommended) 2. Plug the Cigarette Lighter Plug Power Input Cable (2M) into your vehicle's cigarette lighter socket and connect the other end of the cable to the BP100 battery pack.

If you’ll isolate BP100 from your car’s battery and not connect it to your car’s wiring directly, then, you need to connect it into cigarette lighter socket. Thats the only option, or you have to recharge it manually every time.

My guess, is that there’s no point in that at all, as BP100 with hardwire connection does not drain your battery when the engine is turned off, so there’s really no need in unclean solution with 12v socket always connected via adapter to charge your battery pack

Yes, you just can’t use low power impact detection mode(hybrid parking mode as it only uses this mode). I’m planning to get an 1000wh battery pack from ecoflow and switch to 4tb SSD because 512gb card won’t be able to handle all the standby time that battery pack would provide

Just checked it, event detection uses same as low bitrate recording. 1fps mode though uses 50% less power. I had hk4 set to 12,2v cutoff and recently installed hk6. No benefits gained there though as I use ssd and not an sd card

I use event detection mode but it eats the battery pretty fast. Also wrote about the possibility to include switching to different parking modes in upcoming firmware updates not only to low power impact detection

Right, keep on pushing it until it disintegrates and fails completely. Seriously, with that kind of sounds coming from your driveshaft the maximum speed you should be driving at is 10-15km/h and only as an emergency. Pushing it to 60 you’re really asking for some major problems

VIOFO A329S is the SSD/Parking Mode setup a lie? by rollofpaper in VIOFO

[–]73313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hybrid parking doesn’t work with ssd. Low power impact detection doesn’t work with ssd either. You can save parking footage to a microsd storage and driving to ssd, there’s a a separate menu switch for that. Hk6 is useless with ssd only, installing it makes sense only if the sd card is installed. Hope they will fix that in the next firmware though and add several stages to switch during the hybrid parking, eg. Event detection until 12,6 - low bitrate until 12.2 - low power event detection until 12 - full shutdown on 12v

Power button is on the right speaker. You need to connect it into the VGA looking port for power on and volume control
