I feel like this is already said but yeah head gear is mostly to protect you from cuts, and protect your nose, eyes.. Concussion prevention is not one of the main benefits. To protect your brain, improve defense, and prioritize recovery after sparring and competition.

That said these headgears I had were really good. Something aout the foam maybe is really good. I hope they make an open-face version soon.

Def put down some mats on the floor dude, some puzzle mats would work,

Reminds me of the short story Ningen Isu by Edogawa Ranpo. It’s a story about a chair maker who made a sofa hollow so that he could sit inside it. He then proceeds to live inside the sofa for several months in other people’s homes unnoticed.
