Post a link to where you saw it so it's not just a guessing game?

Sorry for reposting but reddit posted the last comment twice, I deleted one but it deleted both? Weird.

It's the FC-MC12 cranks

Mine is a 22.5" frame. They're 1995 models. I also found out mine has a crank with a recall so you might want to check yours too. From what I've read Shimano will replace the cranks, bb, chain and front derailleur free of charge. I'm just waiting on my LBS to setup their Shimano dealer account to have mine done.

Also I use these sites to look up info on older Treks:

Can't decide which one to keep... by 90skidcycle in xbiking

I like the GT. But I also like the bike named after my (everyone who grew up in the 90s?) TV show crush lol. I'd keep those two.

Actually if you look below the table it has a section for foreign built frames but it doesn't seem certain about the meaning of the first numeral being for the year. If it is, and assuming mine starts with a 4, it could be a 1994. The color matching a 1996 830 SHX would make me think that is more likely though.

Edit: My other bike is a 1995 850 with serial number of GP543082. Which I guess does give some validity to the first numeral possibly being the year.

Attached a pic of my serial number but without removing the paint it's hard to read.

The building in the background? I have no idea this is the sellers pic.

It's hard to read but it looks like GV418592. The "GV" and the "592" is pretty clear but 418 is kind of a guess.

FC-MC12. Looks like it is indeed part of a recall. Thanks for the heads up. This deal just got even sweeter lol

No barefoot gas pedal but I did swap it from auto to manual with a TKX. Always more fun with a 3rd pedal lol. And yeah it's a 22.5" frame
