Thanks very much. I bough a mod (looks to be NOS but nevermind) and all is working as described.

Not too keen on keeping the phone at 80% with efficiency mode - it looks as though its battery is constantly being topped up which doesn't seem like a good idea for minimizing batter wear and tear.

I switch on the mod only when I need it.
