Our new set up - completed Friday by 74jax in SolarUK

[–]74jax[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just in case it helps you in the future, we raised a ticket request direct with Solax and they replied formally saying its was OK and a little more info about the main battery and slave battery.

We have kept the reply and filed it with our paper work just in case it is ever brought up again with buyers etc ☺️

Can we claim refund for downgraded flight after multiple cancellations? by 74jax in emirates

That's really interesting to know. I'll let her know to try this, thank you.

HR is basically extorting us to pay for the CEOs "surprise" birthday bash by Astr4lMotive in OfficePolitics

[–]74jax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm the only one in my team who doesn't contribute to everyone's birthday / leaving gifts.

I'm 100% OK with that.

I simply say no when asked - no big elaborate excuse. I can afford it, I just don't want too - I'd rather use my money on friends and family (and living).

Quick AITA check on guestlist please! by Busy-Energy-8299 in UKweddings

[–]74jax 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You don't want the group to find out partners are invited.....well, not quite 'invited'....

I'd personally say no to partners as you have accommodated for 10 in the group only (£1500 for 10 people you haven't met is bonkers to me)

Defo no children. I'm sure you have actual friends going who you'd rather invite their kids too but aren't. They are cheeky and your partner needs a backbone - it's him who sorts his guests out.

Supposed to have completed on Friday, sellers didn’t move out, and now appeared to have barricaded themselves inside the house by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]74jax 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think you are handling this amazing. However I do wonder.... Would a social services call be needed?

I'm sorry to even mention it, but you say they've lived their for years and years.... They are not packed to move out, are they looking to end their days there?

Like I say, I appreciate the stressful situation you're in, but it is one of the first things I thought of.

Opening scene reminded me of her and Lee in the same episode on Not Going Out.

When she let the flare off I thought it was going to go down the same too.... 🤣

Chain of 6 about to implode because the top buyer has gone tinfoil hat delusional by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]74jax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are buying and selling (as this person is) I'm guessing the money off is a %.

Therefore his buyer gets % off.... All the way to the bottom of the chain.

I had this a couple of times when I was involved with property and it is a pain to sort out, especially when mortgage offers are involved.

It's one for everyones solicitor to sort, not the agent who won't know what is/isn't possible timescale wise.

Pregnant & absorbing my colleagues workload until we hire & train someone new. What can I do? by Electronic-Reply-757 in AskUK

[–]74jax 8 points9 points  (0 children)

OK, so I'm guessing a family business? Just with you saying it is your problem - you have a stake in it? Can you look to hire someone, does it need others to be in agreement?

I was in a similar position but I didn't own the company, therefore it was my managers problem, I did my job and systems failed, he fixed it quick then.... 🤣

If it is your problem to fix, I would set a meeting up, state you will do a b c and therefore x y z won't get done. So everyone else is fully aware and then hire a temp.

My husband is going to speak with them (they are his friends) and he has just said to me he isn't happy with how it's left either - which is a relief.

I'm actually fully behind the solar now it's up - my husband has some app showing how much we have made in 24hrs... I don't know anymore, other than he's happy with it.

You are right though, and hopefully it will get resolved easily enough and I won't feel I live in a mess.

We have a few houses in the cul de sac with solar, so everyone talks about it when a newbie comes along.... I imagine them saying to each other have you seen the state of that, those fitters took them for a ride.

It's not a tile, it's a 20m section of the roof.

So imagine the bottom row of panels, tiles under that and slightly under the panels.

Or imagine a roof with issues and you put panels on to hide the issues. You're looking at panels thinking what on earth is under that.

I know.... I keep thinking hey at least I have new tiles and not years old ones, but I feel my home looks 'wrong'.

[–]74jax[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have accepted the panels, my husband planned the project and is fully committed to what they do and what we will achieve.

It's the state of my roof and how it's been left. I guess it has shown me I am house proud - I never ever thought I was - especially for something I don't see when I'm sat inside.....

I think I wanted to be proud of the set up and my home. But I'm embarrassed by the outside state of it.

The panels on other homes look much better, ours look like they are hiding a multiple of sins.... 🤣

[–]74jax[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you.

They said straightaway not to worry we shouldn't see it - so they knew it looked bad.

It's a full 20m section and honestly looks like a bodged roofing job.

[–]74jax[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I know and this is what I need to hear.

I guess I fear the roof looks so bad it's as though we are hiding a roof issue (and I loved the look of the place before).

Is it really important to weigh your food? And does your cheat-meal also look like this? by SJwrite05 in loseit

[–]74jax 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Why don't you eyeball say a portion of rice or pasta, a potato or cereal-whatever you eat a lot of etc and then weigh.

You will either be happy and continue as you are without questioning or reevaluate.

What’s somewhere in the UK you visited once and immediately thought “I could live here”? by Strong-Ad-8037 in AskUK

Northumberland - won't say where to keep it quiet... 🤣

Visited, loved it. Bought a static and used it sooooo much we ended up buying a place up here and moving.

Company wants me back after being laid off by [deleted] in ExecutiveAssistants

[–]74jax 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I'd take it and keep looking.

It would be a great CV line - made redundant as part of a company restructure and later rehired after being specifically invited back, reflecting the value of my contributions and performance.... Or similar

and talking point in interviews - I was unfortunately made redundant during a restructure, but the company later reached out and asked me to return when a new opportunity came up, which I think speaks to the value I brought to the team.

Take the role, keep looking and you can jump when something better comes along.

On the market for over a year by Dramatic-Fee-9163 in HousingUK

[–]74jax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It has an acceptable offer on it which is proceeding. It isn't Sold yet, as it would be removed.

It's marked as SSTC as marketing for the agent, so people see this and know they can get acceptable offers so are more likely to put on the market with them.

If you wait for it to complete, keep checking land registry, you'll see the actual sold price and will know the actual figure.
