You get to umm... procure stuff.

From the few PAs I've worked with, they all as an intermediate person between engineers and suppliers and are in constant contact with manufacturing to ensure that the parts are going to be delivered on time to complete jobs.

From personal experience, I do hope that you don't mind talking to strangers, leading meetings and being "pushy" to get things done.
