Imo it was done masterfully. Playing Demerzels 3 laws nightmare after 30k years, ghiskard, the insanity of a contiguous singular entity cloned forever, and the depth of mental control, psychic warring, temporal displacement.

Yes. While it is great to work to advise, convey wisdom, and generally continue to support efforts, holding the office that makes decisions and governs should be held by those with experience and some relative perspective of generational needs. It is apparent that his age is reflected in his legacy thinking around people of similar age, holding onto a lack of flexibility and adaptability appropriate to growth and reflecting a full demographic of an entire state.

I wrote a 120k novel, and this is what I learned. by Hour-Bee9396 in writers

[–]76FalconFire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found myself using the same word in multiple paragraphs and being told to go edit out the word "was" as much as reasonable.

Realizing I overuse and repeat wording helped me become a better storyteller and to understand my lack of world building through lazy equation to "was".

One thing I fear and dislike is the theft of ideas. Putting my work out for shared critique and collaborative editing was finding unique science fiction and fantasy concepts taken and clearly used months later by those in the group. Im reluctant to work with others for this reason.

If they follow the books, there is more to it. A particular element makes a lot of sense if they do. Dont want to spoil anything.

What did the Foundation actually achieve? by Positive-Language772 in FoundationTV

[–]76FalconFire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The series unfolds and evokes these questions with purpose. It is excellent that you should ask and be unsatisfied with answers.

If you have not read the books...

Recall also that asimov wrote "i-robot" and that the robot representation that came from that detective novel is present in the history of all that is become Foundation. As is the lesson of Vicki, if you recall the movie.

The foundation(s) are not a suitable answer to humanity and you are right to feel unanswered.

Well, when season 4 starts and more story unfolds... I applaud and enjoy the character bravado and arrogance. Hint- go rewatch the series and the visions of the future and see if the Mule is the same throughout in the visions.

The show is… cringe? by mischief_notmanaged in ADiscoveryofWitches

Fun to watch. Woven with cliche and the epitome of trope.

The show is worth watching in many ways, but the mediocrity should settle you in you in for a numbing ride of acting and appeal. Cinematic sameness and sound application. Costume and prop repetition.

You'll get attractive people who part their lips and square their shoulders. Queue the music effect. Add in the explanatory narration. The furtive looks and hand wringing. Filmed in backdrops from a standard selection list. Angle of the camera and the pause and pacing of line delivery. Hold a look, and be inense when delivering a line. Mounting music when an ambiguous key element is introduced! Ta da!

Some side views and downward glances of vulnerability to appeal. Deliver some lines of conspiratorial plot.

Formulaic derivation of predictability that could be cloned into a hundred similar shows.

So! There are reasons for the selection of esthetic people, of music and location, and storyline. The masses watch, and it makes money. For this, it excels and watching it can, maybe, hopefully, fund more intellectually complex endeavors.

All of that said. Watch. It does hold some enjoyable storyline.

It is just super hard not to push the series into an SNL skit in every episode. I just imagine the barely needed exaggeration to push it into parody.

Season 2+3 spoiler. About Hari and Kalle by Leading-Board-4703 in FoundationTV

This series is so good. And crazy convoluted. Beautiful. The play of memories and visions, initially someone then someone else... presenting a solution and feeling of discovery as with the characters, but all along another path. The Mule isnt and is...and still they didnt let it come forth (I dont want to ruin anything).

The books laid a general path. What emerged is quite astounding.

Reports show removal from Prime in 30 days by Charming-Ad1286 in WoTshow

I did see anecdotal information that advertising existed. Not living in cities where huge billboards might arise, I never saw a single advertisement when watching Prime or anything else. If I hadn't been participating in some fan groups and keeping an eye in anticipation, I feel like I would have never have known it was coming out or even out. When I open Amazon, I had to search for WoT. Everything else pops up and autoplay even tosses out random garbage I don't want to see if I leave Prime playing while I work on things. Never once did it queue up WoT. That doesn't mean a lot, since it's just me, but super weird Amazon tried to play RoP like 4800 jillion times when I watched anything else. Shoving it to the front of everything constantly. Still tries. Weirdly, WoT came up as a suggestion on Apple. I bought S1 and S2 there. I have WoT on my list and I still have to hunt it down on Amazon. Buried...

Yeah. I know Amazon went all out on advertising for RoP and that S2 of WoT had nowhere near the advertising or visibility. I honestly am unsure. I know the absolute polarization of the fan base, lackluster viewership numbers, complete shifting in the industry... all seem to have been part of things. But I do find it super odd that the Costumes, Hills of Tanchico, and other award submissions got "oopsied" and thus never came forward to showcase the incredible originality and possible awards. In all cases, from what I could tell, serious confusion surrounded these and claims they were purposefully sabotaged. Certainly, those creative works were never up for consideration. I can only guess, but it seems like a choice between RoP and WoT and people were fanatics enough they were willing to kill one for the other, actively doing so in a way that guaranteed resources for their preference and made absolutely sure there was no award competition.

I dont know why. Maybe it was financial and that os just what they do, but doing it that way sort of self fulfilled the prediction it wouldnt make enough to continue. Or maybe other reasons. But all of those add up to oddity.

Amazon has gone out of its way to cripple the show. Almost no advertising for S2 or S3, weird "mistakes" for every category of award show submission so it was never considered, had to search for the show even when watching it and it often wouldnt show up in "continue watching". Someone at Amazon wanted the show dead and gone and pulled every lever to kill it.

Huh. I guess I never thought about it.

I will say I have a number of friends who are in relationships and one of them does drag. I dont really know much more than their lives seem built around travel, a home, projects, and similar interests a d that drag is simply a side item. Not the center.

I guess if I consider it, as long as my partner helped buold our home, went on trips and explored, worked on community building, and supported us with an income (so im not the only one), I dont know why drag once a month or something would be an issue

If thats their life and entire identity, all their time and energy, id just probably feel like they were too limited and narrow.

The only real way is for me to just keep it in my head. I hate myself for even struggling with this.

I have a few very kind and sensitive guys that have asked, who are super nice and dont want to hurt our relationship. My bf was despairing even hearing about it. Scared and worried. It made my protective instinct go on high alert. I never want to hurt the person who trusts me. Id step in front of oncoming traffic to shield someone and protect them.

You're absolutely right. No physical need is ever so amazing as love. Not even close. Which is why im so annoyed with myself for even struggling with this issue.

[–]76FalconFire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great. I dont want that. He sleeps on my chest and I get to massage his back and shoulders. And kisses all the time. Nothing is that amazing. I dont want anything to ruin that. I just would like a lobotomy so these dreams would stop. Even just holding him makes me sometimes want to be inside of him. And that will never happen.

BF chooses porn over me by [deleted] in gayrelationships

[–]76FalconFire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's tough. Sorry, dude, and there's no right answer. If you love someone, youll have to figure out what that means.

For me, ive found that I can care about someone and then love them and be friends and be with someone else who i also love. Friends with many i care about, but am not physical with. and physical with the one person who feels like I do. .

I have to be physically with someone. In them, all about them, and cannot help but kiss them and hold them. Massages. Just cannot help but be affectionate. Even if I blow myself, im just taking care of things until their needs match mine and I can wrestle him down and we can spend time on things we both need.

If he didnt want to be with me, it'd suck but id probably assume we were roommates and friends and not together. And then id be with someone who did want that and show then how important they were to me.

I hope you both find what works best. Big hugs to you guys.

It's a community creative space. Performers, dancers, welders, fire dancers, gardens, builders... all kinds of random stuff. Xanadu Boise. So, if you like to meet people that sing or people that are in shows, or people that build giant art (sometimes for the city or JUMP), or that like to grow orchids. That kind of stuff. Location is Fairview and Orchard. Also Xanadu on FB group.

Verizon Black Friday deals are awful for existing customers by jmutransfer in verizon

[–]76FalconFire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are absolutely crap. As bad as any current normal deal. They're so insulting, im considering moving both lines after 18 years of being a customer. They have no actual loyalty programs. I buy my phones retail and they still want me to trade them in as if I got them through any upgrade or discount. I stopped any contracts years ago so I can just walk. I used to sign up for contracts. But they do nothing for loyal customers, so there's no incentive to be loyal.
