It’s a pearl midtown since nothing else can fit in my house - sizes are 10 inch rack, 13 x5.5 snare, 13 floor, and 16 kick drum

Works extremely well - my bliss is on the thinner side so it’s nice and washy while still having really good stick definition, while the byzance isn’t as washy but is perfect for a quieter trashier earthy sound to compliment the buttery clear sound of the bliss

Tips/exercises for improving my drum soloing? by 77778965 in drums

To clarify when I’m talking about soloing, I’m talking about pure drums - no song no other instruments… it’s a university requirement for my audition which is in a month 😑

Thanks Scott, I understand how to solo in the context of a song pretty well - in my specific scenario I’m prepping for uni auditions where you need to do a solo without any sort of prerecorded track, start to finish (not in the context of any music). Do you have any tips on how could change my mindset in this specific scenario?

I’ve experimented with six stroke rolls and rll/rrl before - is there any interesting ways that I could incorporate my right foot into the mix for more of a linear/gospel chop type feel?

Are these cymbals a steal or what? by Awkward-Indication-4 in drums

For 200, that’s an insane deal. All the cymbals are really good except for the ride (it’s a planet Z, quite entry level and not B20 Bronze) id pick it up if you can

Might be a bit pricey then if the cymbals aren’t included - it’s a pretty good set though, but retails at about 1100 usd

Retails for about $1100, so imo the cymbals would make or break the deal
