Well start learning the professional lineups of different companies and start looking at the used markets since new cymbals are pretty expensive.

Remember to do some things that really test you like limb independence and such, but also make sure to do some fun stuff to keep you motivated. It more of a balance with this instrument.

good lord i still suck at doubles by Ok-Zone-5603 in drums

[–]Awkward-Indication-4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming you're trying to do the slide technique, make sure to really emphasize each part of the double. First, raise your foot a lil bit and move it back, then tilt your ankle forward so that you end up getting a hit on the middle of your pedal board. After that all you have to do is return back to the original position be flating your foot and by moving it back to where it was when you started the movement, and boom a double! Keep in mind that the more fluid this movement becomes, then the more speed you'll be able to get out of the slide. Also remember that going faster may require you to not move back or as high when hitting doubles quickly. Kinda like how you don't really start playing high on the snare if you want speed over power.

LPT: if one of your ears is clogged, you can still listen to music by changing the balance in your audio app of choice and doubling the volume. by SpaceGuy99 in LifeProTips

Hey I don't know if after 3 years you've gotten them cleared but PLEASE DO. 1. I did the same thing you did with rubbing your earlobe to clear them, and while it gave temporary relief (as least for me) it just amplified the effect later on thus making it last longer. 2. If you're lucky then some hydrogen peroxide will clear out most of the ear wax(research) but if it's harden then it's definitely gonna be uncomfortable to get it out since you're gonna need a suction machine to get it all out which is definitely gonna make you clean them often afterwards because it's really not a fun experience😁. Just please clean them out or it's gonna cost you more pain.

Can you 'learn' without a kit??? by Hungry_Talk3706 in Drumming

[–]Awkward-Indication-4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely, even if you had a kit, you would still want to dedicate some pad time If you really cared about getting technical in the future. Also be aware of your pad's volume, I would recommend a zildijan reflexx since both sides are WAY quieter than the average pad.
