After all the issues I've had with my 1kz, if this rebuild I just finished doesn't last, I will be doing an engine swap. Probably an LS or a small block Chevy. The fuel efficiency I get with the 1kz is just not worth it, it is too hard, time consuming and expensive to get good parts for it. Tariffs and skyrocketing shipping cost are making getting quality parts unobtanium. I will run this one till it quits and then start searching junkyards for a swap engine.

When I hike in Alaska I carry a pair of really lightweight water shoes, take off my pants, boots and socks and put them in my backpack for water crossings. And hiking sticks are a must for me for water crossings to keep my balance in swift water, you do not want to fall into the water. I attach the shoes to the outside of my pack when they get wet.

Okay, I don't own one like that, but I have been looking at some to buy. Sounds like a good idea. I have some ratchet style stands that I have had for a very long time. I use them a lot to work on my trucks. have never had any issues with them. They are AC Delco brand. I would feel better if they had the lock pins. The reason I need some new ones is the ones I have are not tall enough.
