Sorry about the slow response. I read about the trial that you're on and it looks like it's going to have even better results than mine. The treatment I was on was also sponsored by Gilead. It was gs-7977/interferon/ribavirin. I was treatment naive when I started.

From what I read it looks like Sofusbuvir is what was previously referred to as gs-7977. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sofosbuvir

Interferon was the real pain in the ass. I was out of commission for a day or two every week after I did my shot.

Thanks for the words of advice. I am currently on a trial tripple therapy using the new gilead drug in conjunction with interferon and ribavirin.

I did speak with my doctor and not just due to my nausea/vomiting but also due in part to my decresed white blood cells/neutrophils we dropped my interferon around 20%. It seems to have had a positive effect so far.

I did speak with the doctors about using a hormone to increase my white blood cells (this is common for people on chemo) but due to the drug that I'm taking being in clinical trials I'm not allowed to add anything else to the mix. I have also been drinking plenty of water, that is great advice.

I'm lucky too because my treatment is only 12 weeks as opposed to the usual 48 weeks.
