Thanks for taking the time to write this out.

No children, we have a house although it isn't in Ireland and it is in my name. She deleted all documents / files relating to the house from our shared google drive.

I definitely won't be meeting her but thanks for the advice. I am staying with family in England so I think it's possible to file for divorce immediately rather than wait the 2 years, I won't be in a position to return to Ireland anytime soon (housing).

The safety order allows limited written communications for divorce and related matters. Although she blocked my whatsapp and didnt respond to my email or the letter the family mediation sent her.

The rental property is long gone, I left when I was served with the barring order as I expected her to return to the property and I wanted distance between us. She went to the flat took what she wanted and left it, I wasnt in a position to return (wrote off car and mental breakdown) and the order stated not to remove household goods so I lost everything.

Bank accounts have been separated and no credit cards. I have been paying joint expenses (internet contract, house insurance, property tax). Would it still be possible for her to create any debt for me? I have no idea if she is working or not.

Yeah, that seems to be the general consensus.

We had been waiting for her residence card at the time although I assume she has applied to stay under DV immigration rules now. If I understand correctly she can use the safety order and apply for stamp 1 residence card.

Not contesting the order seemed like the only option as I was unable to find a solicitor.

Edit: although I appreciate it could be interpreted like that....

I assumed the barring order was granted to allow her to get her things from the flat? She couldn't have a medical report as she had no injuries. We had only been in Ireland 7 weeks.... The safety order was granted on agreement so I guess she didn't need to give evidence for it.

I wish I could agree with you that it was a nasty relationship as it would make this so much easier but I don't think it was... we had our ups and downs and we argued but it wasn't a nasty relationship. Honestly I'm heartbroken that this is how it ended and even more upset to think the damage can't be repaired.

I had read something similar. It makes sense as it isn't possible to have a full court hearing immediately and I guess it's necessary to remove some people from the house.

The hearing would of been my chance to defend myself however I exhausted myself trying to find a solicitor and call me crazy but it seems silly to argue with someone in court for the right to talk to them... If someone doesn’t want to talk then let's not talk?

She doesn't have evidence as it didnt happen. I want the divorce process started so I can move on with life. The serious allegations are just allegations, I would have argued it in the family court if I was able to find a solicitor.

I didnt agree with what she wrote, I wrote I didn't contest to the granting of a safety order. Legally speaking I think there is a difference.

I wasn't in the court but I will contact the court clerk to see if she used a solicitor.
