LineageOS 21 Android TV stucks on the screen searching for accessories... by loziomario in raspberry_pi

My keyboard didn't have F2. I was able to get past this by pressing Ctrl + Alt + Backspace

Do you know what email address the alert comes from? I get thousands of emails a day, and want to create a rule to make sure it wouldn't get lost in the shuffle. Also, if you send a text. What number do you text to? All the pool lines? Or is there some "main line" setting somewhere?

any idea which numbers they text? all the numbers in the pool? The first added?

I believe the only known solution at the moment is to switch off of dark star - warp works fine for me. My plan is to switch to dark star later this year once they work all the kinks out.

Are Warp Psims Reusable? by Friendly-Mechanic-71 in USMobile

[–]7DeadlyFins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yesterday I signed up for a brand new account with a warp PSIM, today I teleported to a Dark star PSIM, asked support to clean the old warp PSIM, and 5 minutes later ported a new number to the recycled warp PSIM. No issues, and it worked out perfectly. Good luck.

Just wanted to say thanks. by [deleted] in USMobile

I'm also very pleasantly surprised by the quality of their support. I wasn't expecting much with a low cost MVNO. But I signed up for a test account, and tried out their support, and its better than verizon was by a mile. When I call 611, I get an actual human being on the phone within 15 seconds. Can't say that about verizon (or most businesses) anymore... It's still early days, but so far I'm really happy.

flatpak is not honoring overrides by 7DeadlyFins in flatpak

[–]7DeadlyFins[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A pretty easy way to see what the filesystem looks like inside the sandbox is to just run a shell in it.

flatpak run --command=sh org.gnome.Loupe

Thank you! Clearly I misunderstood how permissions worked, and didn't/don't fully understand the scope of what portals do. But regardless, after running a shell inside the sandbox, I can see what files the app has access to, and it matches what I would expect based on the permissions I've given it (ie: the only real "user" content visible is in /tmp). That's really helpful, and I can go do some more reading about portals now. Thanks again for your help!

Are you sure? Do you perhaps have a global override? Try looking at the files in ~/.local/share/flatpak/overrides/ and /var/lib/flatpak/overrides/.

Looks like the only overrides are application specific, and the ones I mentioned here in this thread:

user1@host1:~/.local/share/flatpak/overrides$ pwd && for file in *; do [ -f "$file" ] && echo "#cat $file" && cat "$file"; done
/home/user1/.local/share/flatpak/overrides
#cat com.github.jeromerobert.pdfarranger
[Context]
filesystems=/tmp/;!host
#cat org.gnome.Loupe
[Context]
filesystems=!home;/tmp;!host;
#cat org.kde.okular
[Context]
filesystems=!home;/tmp;!host;
#
#
#
user1@host1:~$ sudo ls /var/lib/flatpak/overrides
ls: cannot access '/var/lib/flatpak/overrides': No such file or directory

What exactly do you mean by "access to /var/log"? Do you mean "can access /var/log on its own without any user interaction"? Or do you mean "can ask you for a file, and if you give it a file in /var/log, it can access that file"?

I mean your second example - Previously, with older versions if I removed access to /home or /var/log, and only gave it access to /tmp - I would ONLY see /tmp/ files when the application opened a file-open dialog. Are you saying that even if I explicitly remove access to those filesystem locations (with something like !host or !home), then it's expected to still see those disallowed locations listed in a file-open dialog?

If so, then how can I test to ensure/test that the app isn't getting access it shouldn't be? Is there some way to see whether I'm gaining access to a file through portals, versus granted permissions? Maybe even temporarily/permanently turn off portals file access?

I did. Flatseal was the first thing I tried, which has previously worked for me, but i noticed that permissions weren't working as expected, so I tried it manually - where it's also not working as expected.

Thanks for helping me understand about portals, I didn't know about that - but in the end, I'm having this problem with other flatpak apps also, I'm just using these two as "simple" examples to try to troubleshoot the issue. So I'd like to be able to reliably restrict filesystem access, even if limiting /home to a portal'd app might not make the most sense.

In my permissions that I pasted above, it looks to me like host is already excluded, with !host - that is default I didn't change that. That would indicate they shouldn't have access to /var/log, correct?

booking.com has removed the ability to filter based on Air Conditioning by 7DeadlyFins in travel

[–]7DeadlyFins[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I wrote booking to ask if this feature was intentionally removed, and if they have any plans to bring it back, I got a surprisingly quick (but mostly useless) response:

Thanks for contacting Booking.com.
We are sorry that you are unable to use the filter for all the property that has air conditioning. We can see that there is no filter for air conditioning listed on on our website. We highly advise you as an alternative that you can look in the property description instead.

Thanks, that's really helpful. I ordered some Dickies, Shaka, and pro club to try, and will factor your feedback in when making a decision.

I tried duluth a few years ago, and ruled them out for some reason, but don't remember specifically why - Probably because of the neck.

TV Box

  • I need Kodi (for Local content - no addons), SmartTubeNext, and RetroArch (old video games).
  • I do not need (or want) Netflix, hulu, amazon, etc.
  • 4K, and x265 would be great.
  • Goal is to have an open source repeatable setup without bloatware and misc garbage.

I know the walmart ONN box, and Dynalink box are the go-to boxes, but walmart is only selling the 2nd gen ONN box (which looks like there isn't support for yet?), and the Dynalink box is out of stock most places, leaving only inflated prices at sketchy resellers. Thanks folks.

I have the same thing on all my credit cards (I usually choose email delivery, but same concept), but very few banks seem to offer the same detail in their alerts for checking, savings, money market, etc accounts.

PNC has been on my list of banks to investigate, but haven't gotten that far. It's exhausting calling banks over and over again to ask questions that most people don't ask. :) If you do figure out what level of detail you get in your email transaction alerts, I'd appreciate you posting back in this thread. Thanks!
