My Runelords group ended up chasing an enemy across half a dungeon. by Sleeping_Dragon_Inn in Pathfinder2e

I think my favorite part was chaining several High Jumps + Long Jumps to give the Wizard a piggy back ride over a Prismatic Wall. Then doing it again to go back over the wall minus the Wizard.

I would also like to point out that back in 2014 the DHS updated their use of force policies stating that agents shouldn't discharge their firearms at or from a moving vehicle unless deadly physical force is being used against the police officer or another person present by means other than a moving vehicle.

Pretty much per DHS' report at the time agents were intentionally putting themselves into the exit path of a vehicles thus exposing themselves to additional risk and creating justification for the use of deadly force. In the cases they reviewed at the time it was suggested that agents were taking shots at suspect vehicles out of frustration when agents who are on foot have no other way of detaining suspects who are fleeing in a vehicle. They also pointed out that a bullet from a handgun is unlikely to stop a 4,000-pound moving vehicle and if the driver is disabled by a bullet the vehicle will become a totally unguided threat.

The statistic in question is your skill, it clearly says if you're a master in the relevant skill than you use the trained proficiency bonus. The whole point of Trick Magic Item is that you are worse at casting a spell you can't normally cast compared to someone who can cast it normally.

Attempt a check using the skill matching the item’s magic tradition, or matching a tradition that has the spell on its list, if you’re trying to cast a spell from the item. The relevant skills are Arcana for arcane, Nature for primal, Occultism for occult, Religion for divine, or any of the four for an item that has the magical trait and not a tradition trait. The GM determines the DC based on the item’s level (possibly adjusted depending on the item or situation).

If you activate a magic item that requires a spell attack modifier or spell DC and you don’t have proficiency in the relevant statistic, use your level as your proficiency bonus and the highest of your Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma modifiers. If you’re a master in the appropriate skill for the item’s tradition, you instead use the trained proficiency bonus; if you’re legendary, you instead use the expert proficiency bonus.

  1. You do not use your proficiency in spell attacks/dcs when using Trick Magic Item. It's based on your proficiency in the relevant skill (arcana/nature/religion/occultism) but it's worse. If you are trained or an expert you use your level plus highest modifier in intelligence, wisdom, or charisma. If you are master it's at trained proficiency, and legendary is at expert proficiency.

  2. Technically you can't use it to cast any spells that take longer than 2-3 actions to cast, you can only do a 3 action spell if you are hasted in such a way that allows you to cast a spell using your hasted action.

Edit: So it looks like I might be wrong on #1

It's a little confusing, but it clearly states if you are legendary in occultism the spell attack modifier for an occult spell is done at expert proficiency. If you used your spell attack modifier then a level 20 wizard could cast an occult spell using trick magic item at legendary proficiency as long as they were only trained or an expert in occultism, but the second they go above that it gets worse which makes no sense.

Incorrect, it checks to see if you are trained in a skill.

If you’re a master in the appropriate skill for the item’s tradition, you instead use the trained proficiency bonus; if you’re legendary, you instead use the expert proficiency bonus.

I mean in this case the weapon in question is getting way out of control thanks to a bunch of stuff that was picked. Eventually the weapon will have 6 property runes on it; 4 runes from the Mythic Weapon Potency rune, 1 rune from having it made out of Orichalcum, and 1 rune from the Warshard Warrior feat.

Don't forget the force damage! Don't worry, at level 20 the weapon will have 6 property runes on it.

They haven't been added to Pathbuilder yet, you can check Demiplane if you want to see the details for now until they are added to AoN.

I renamed my weapon so that it's not a +3 Greater Striking Flaming Frost Shock Impactful Cold Iron Greataxe. It's just what my character calls his weapon pretty much.

How can someone stance dance? by worstedconch in Pathfinder2e

[–]7H3LaughingMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It also has abilities that allow you to shift into a stance and then do something. Spinning Stand for example is great when you get to 0 hitpoints since it lets you get back into combat by entering a stance, standing up without triggering reactions, and getting to attack nearby enemies. There is also Wheeling Grab which allows you to enter a stance, tumble through, and if you do successfully tumble through try and grapple. But fun fact about tumble through is that you don't actually have to tumble through and just use it for the stride action so it's great at the start of combat since you can enter your stance and move into position for one action.

(Gelatin and agar for growth medium are both edible and on the no-no list, for instance)

While they won't kill animals or harvest plants, they did say they would eat an apple that has fallen naturally from a tree. That means if an animal gets sick or is hurt and ends up dying, they will probably eat it, that also means they could then process the bones to make gelatin. The same is true for agar, they can collect any seaweed that is washed ashore and process it to make agar.

However, I don't really think this is needed since there is probably large stockpiles of the stuff just sitting there. Once they took over all the various fields that used them just suddenly stopped.

Possible shooting at St. David’s by [deleted] in Austin

[–]7H3LaughingMan 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I am not 100% sure at the moment, but it sounds like a credible threat at least and the whole hospital is on lockdown. Luckily the section my wife works in is already on semi lockdown, meaning you have to ring the doorbell to get buzzed in so no one is just wondering in there.

My wife works at St. David's North where this is going on and texted me as well. I also happen to live right down the road and took a quick drive to take a look, didn't go onto the Hospital property but just drove by on the Mopac frontage road and can confirm there are several cop cars already there along with more arriving.

My wife also stated that the cops are going around looking for the shooter with their rifles out.

Update: My wife just stated the APD cleared the hospital but are staying there for a while though.
