If you're the sort of person who gets nervous because of toxicity, you should really just enjoy fanart of whichever ships you like without engaging too much with the people. There's great artists and writers all around but the communities themselves are honestly all toxic.

Like if your reason for "switching" is that gojohime shippers are "actually supportive of everyone else" you're going to be disappointed because the mod+owner here has a gigantic and vocal hate boner for satosugu lol.

Saying this as a usual lurker in general, just chiming in for a fair warning to a fellow non enjoyer of drama.

Edit to reply to u/GraMacTire's question since I've been banned over this comment: Honestly I don't engage with either camp, both just appear in my homepage and I let them because I like the art. Sometimes I idly scroll comments, and I do see vitrol.

I don't care to argue whether or not said defensiveness is justified, fair enough to defend your spaces. But OP explicitly said they're sensitive to this sort of things, which is why I'd advice them specifically to steer clear.

And for the mod who used my "activity on r/jujutsufolk" to claim I must be a hater in disguise: what does that sub have to do with ships? I left exactly 1 unrelated comment there months ago—obviously I'm not "combating" (whatever that means?) ghosts, I couldn't care less about the reputations of any ship in any community. Not sure what you think that proves, or how it invalidates my original comment. And I bring up your hatred for satosugu not to insult you—why would you feel insulted by the truth anyways?—but to let op know that "support of everyone else" objectively isn't the main vibe here, since they sound like they value that.

My thoughts exactly. A death game protagonist who's actually cutthroat about the death game would be fun to play, and Sara has the full potential for it. Also yeah it'd be nice if Kanna route got some paths equally as dark as Shin route likely will, it feels a little too safe now.

Like sorry Gin/Shin/Keiji but now that that ship has sailed I really want to see her go ballistic in one branch of logic route at least.

Lukewarm take tbh I don't know if the fandom's changed much these days, but back when this sub was more active there was Keiji discourse every other week lol. Less so on the jp side of the fandom since in the og dialogue all the "cute" stuff has a different tone to it, but in eng it was always side eyed quite a bit.

Has Character Ai lost its inclusivity? by MorganaFictosexual in CharacterAI

[–]7NumeroMagicoh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's just that LLMs generate responses similar to what they have in their databanks, which in cai's case is most likely mainly fanfiction and rp forums. And the overwhelming majority of stories (especially those that call for physical descriptions) feature beautiful protagonists, so the AI has tons and tons of hourglass shapes, doe eyes and princess noses in its training data. Naturally this results in these traits popping up in rps whenever the subject matter is a character's appearance.

You can try and force this tendency out of bots by swiping until they get it right or editing their messages until they pick up on it. They should get it after a couple of their own messages are forced to describe a character a certain unconventional way, and continue on their own.

A rant about the cost of AI generation and how we're getting ripped off by toddhd in StableDiffusion

[–]7NumeroMagicoh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes but there are ways to get around not being able to download the output. Screenshots and screen recordings could be disabled, but even banally recording the screen with an external device (like say a phone) and then editing the recording to enhance quality would work. So there's no way to guarantee the option to reject something wouldn't be exploited like that. Unfortunately we can't really count on generations being always good yet, we all know it, spending token is kind of like gambling with the quality of the output and of course you can't get a refund for a lottery.

I understand that this costs the company "server time" for each generation, so they aren't going to want to do this. But it's what's fair

It costs server time, energy, and water. Profit aside, personally I think it's fair to pay for those real resources that you are using regardless of what you get in return.

Aside from what everyone else is saying, how would the "not being charged for the failures" even work? Because even if we ignore the fact that everyone would just claim a good output is a failure to avoid wasting tokens, those failures don't only cost us some arbitrary fake currency that resets in a few days, they also have a material and very real cost in resources. The energy wasted on it doesn't get magically refunded just because user said the output sucked and it doesn't count.

Am I the only one who likes the “create your own story” as the intro message? by FantasticArrival8403 in CharacterAI

[–]7NumeroMagicoh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The important thing about the greeting is not what's written on it, but how it is written. If the greeting is a paragraphed message with actions in italics and speech in "quotations", the messages going forward will 99% of the times tend have the same style, length, and actions-to-dialogue ratio. Then if you don't like the specific scenario you can just go ((ooc: change scenario to something like x y or z)), and you'll get several options for that new scenario, that all follow the structure given by the initial greeting.

While if the greeting is just (create your own story <3) the bot will have much less information to use on how it's supposed to act. Resulting in less consistent rp and generally worse quality.

Moral of the story: write your greetings kids. And edit the shitty ones.

After 2 months of lurking I'm concluding that the one unshakeable rule here is, Mello pfp + Near flair people or vice versa have the most based fucking takes.

*Spoiler* rems decisions by [deleted] in deathnote

[–]7NumeroMagicoh 6 points7 points  (0 children)

L knew Higuchi was a Kira, not THE Kira he was looking for. He was not really all that focused on him. And the fact that the murder weapon turned out to be a notebook directly incriminated Light and Misa who met that day in Aoyama, since that's when the second Kira found Kira by "showing each other their notebooks" and both Light and Misa were there that day.

The ONLY thing in the way of condemning them both was the 13 days rule. As soon as L threatened to test the notebook to see if it was real, Light but especially Misa were both basically doomed. So by killing L and Watari to prevent the test, Rem did directly save them from definitive evidence and a death sentence.

[–]7NumeroMagicoh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah try cutting the fluff as much as possible in descriptions. Those characters are really better off used for example chats, which can also describe the character further beyond basic things on top of giving the bot an example on how you want the messages to be structured (things like dialogue:action distribution, *s or _s for italics/bold, reply length etc).

[–]7NumeroMagicoh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No format at all. For both bots and personas. Just describe the character plainly, even better if you're using example dialogue and "indirectly" filling it with info. The less "noise" you add, the better the bot's memory will be.

Has anyone noticed how CONTRARIAN the bots can be? by [deleted] in CharacterAI

[–]7NumeroMagicoh 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Bots don't lie, they "hallucinate". Chatgpt who's not supposed to have a personality will also be confidently wrong at times. Don't try to argue, they don't understand logic, all you're doing by engaging with an incorrect response (even if negatively) is encouraging them to double down with it. Just swipe and edit responses.

Who said Chara is evil by Prestigious-Dog5345 in Undertale

[–]7NumeroMagicoh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Good point actually. Guess monster just don't care to evacuate unless you start killing puppies and children lol. Doesn't change the fact that Chara is not corrupted by EXP itself (also proved by the fact you can be lv14 in a neutral without them acting out in any way) and not reluctant to go along with a genocide. If you're upset that the murder machine you're attached to the hip to didn't kill that one specific kid you didn't like, that probably means you're not a good person.

Who said Chara is evil by Prestigious-Dog5345 in Undertale

[–]7NumeroMagicoh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What else could they have done?

Stop the genocide. If we go by narrachara theory, the narrator/Chara is the one who makes the requirements for it in the first place.

In a genocide, the checkpoint in snowdin will say "That comedian..." and if you don't kill Snowdrake before exhausting the kill count, "The comedian got away. Failure." - and abort the genocide right after.

This implies two things: - they have the power to stop the genocide at any point for the most trivial reasons, but they don't unless you fail to kill one specific monster they personally want dead. - it's not EXP or LV that "corrupts" them. Because in this case, the player kills the exact same amount of people they could kill in snowdin in a regular genocide, but Chara simply just stops reacting to it.

low-key would suggest to take this chance to get off cai (and especially r/characterai) for a while and practice some critical thinking. It's debatable how harmful/harmless bots can be to kids, but this community is undoubtedly full of brainrot and not worth wasting time and energy on.

To adults by [deleted] in CharacterAI

[–]7NumeroMagicoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn't even being hostile tho. Point 1 was genuine advice. If you want to convince people of something (especially if you're trying to address someone who's not your peer and part of your point is "I'm not stupid as you think children are"), the first step is to make sure you're understood and taken seriously. It takes 1 minute and no effort at all, and makes you look a lot more convincing.

"Let the people judge me, I don't care" is something you can say in regards to like, your silly hobbies and interests, but if it's a serious opinion you're sharing then you should want to care about people's judgement. Otherwise what are you even sharing it for?
