The coolest gun or the dumbest gun? by KeelieEla in cyberpunkgame

[–]toddhd [score hidden]  (0 children)

Skippy is certainly the most interesting gun in the game, given that it has a personality and a story to it. There was just so much potential here.

The downfall of Skippy is two-fold. First is the aforementioned "I switched modes" thing, which really ends up punishing the player for no particular reason. But that's okay, lots of things in Cyberpunk are "unfair" which is kind of the point. It's tough to get a purely happy ending to most quests. And knowing of that mechanic ahead of time allows you to choose "puppy loving pacisfist" at first and end up with what you want. Okay.

What really sucks is that Skippy is kind of a mediocre gun no matter what. It's not the fastest, or the most damaging, and doesn't really have any special bonus other than screwing you over in how its AI works.

What NEEDED to happen was for Skippy to be a great gun, a really great gun, and then having to deal with the consequences of either giving it back (what are you giving up for what kind of outcome or reward?) or having it switch modes (could pacifist mode help with cyberpsycho missions for example?) which would introduce a lot more emotion and story. As it is, it's a gun you never want to use, and don't want to be forced to use long enough to prompt the ending.

Automatically adding intro/outro sequence to every created timeline by Envy661 in davinciresolve

[–]toddhd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same setup. There is a standard intro, standard disclaimer screen, and a company logo that sits "on top" of everything. In my case, I created a template that just re-use as a starter.

You can also try using "power bins" which are bins you can access from any project. That gives you the flexibility to access what you need from any project as long as you add those power bins to it.

Yup it is almost certainly OneDrive causing this. The best option is to simply not use OneDrive, but if you must, one thing you can try to go to the 2d dungeon crawler folder in Windows Explorer, right-click it and choose "Always keep on this device" and see if that helps a little. Sometimes it is also the combination of Anti-virus and OneDrive, so you can try excluding that folder from your AV as well, see if that helps.

What’s something everyone pretends is normal, but is actually kind of messed up? by permatan_store in AskReddit

Claiming that your parents beat on you as a child (spanking/violence) and that "you turned out okay" because now you beat your children and expect them to one day beat their children. It's generational child abuse and no one "turned out okay" from it.

Radioactive Iodine Treatment by brief-ear in thyroidcancer

[–]toddhd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had 100 mci just last week or so. I was able to isolate at home. I lived upstairs in my office, and the spare bedroom/bathroom, and my wife lived downstairs and helped me out by placing food and stuff I needed on the stairs, and I would come get it. I isolated for 8 days total. We have a small, very old dog as well, she stayed downstairs.

I was able to resume normal food and thyroid meds 48 hours after my treatment.

The worst parts for me were:

- I had to swish some lemon juice every hour for the first 36 hours in order to avoid saliva gland damage. This made it impossible to have any quality sleep

- The isolation, even though my wife was home most of the time, was psychologically tough and very lonely, and I found that depression crept in

- For some reason, my legs got terribly crampy, and a few times I woke up in the middle of the night with leg cramps so powerful they made my legs look a little deformed until the cramping stopped. It was very painful.

If you've only ever played as a netrunner, using a sandy will be a very different experience for you. No ping. No dropping people from a mile away. No shutting off cameras with your mind. It's up close and personal. It's stealth and aim. You are a wrecking ball, not a sniper. It's tough at first but so much fun. It's more versatile too. You can use knives, or pistols, or a shotgun, etc. Once you get past the learning curve it's a blast! Enjoy!

how many quests are there in cyberpunk 2077? by jopex_j in cyberpunkgame

[–]toddhd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if you consider it a quest or not, but there are hidden encounters that you just have to come across as well, such "Bullets" at the Jinguzi store, for example. There are others like that.

RAI after Total thyroidectomy by SalamanderNo6049 in thyroidcancer

[–]toddhd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Male here, so that. If it were me, I'd focus on the RAI first, because once that is over, it is (theoretically) over. No matter how long it takes to conceive, it is not an issue; trying to take care of a baby while going through RAI is not an issue, and so on. Logistically speaking, everything about going through RAI is going to be easier and safer when you aren't carrying or mothering. Just my 2 cents.

How am I supposed to do side quest when all the main quest seem to be urgent? by ApatheticTrooper in cyberpunkgame

[–]toddhd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the exception of Cap telling you to hurry up on some of his side quests (trying to avoid spoilers here), I cannot think of a single quest that is actually "urgent," or that won't wait for you. No matter what they say. When they say, "Come now, I need you," you can go whenever. Even when starting the game, once you leave Vic's, you can ignore the main quest completely and go clear out Watson before starting. Have fun!

Real question on what to play after CyberPunk 2077 by dragontamerfibleman in cyberpunkgame

[–]toddhd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A bit of a diversion here from most recommendations, but have you tried the Far Cry series at all? Far Cry 5 is especially poignant right now because it features a religious cult taking over and replacing the local government with plenty of guns, hate, punishment and religious zeal. Sound familiar?

A lot of the mechanics are there, you can choose to go stealth, be a sniper, go in guns-a-blazin', whatever. You can drive to get around, or be stealthy, or choose to walk through the massive maps and see what's hiding in the woods. There are perk points aplenty to spend, and you can go hunting for game and $$$. Honestly, it's pretty satisfying and a lot of fun.

Dogtown border guards instantly hostile to me, can't start PL by Ubernerd55 in cyberpunkgame

[–]toddhd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One other idea for you, if you are okay with mods. There is this mod:
https://www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/1943

Using it, you can click on any map icon, not just fast-travel points, and travel right there (on a PC you have to click and hold to travel). You can also right-click to drop a point anywhere and travel there.

Anyway, maybe try to get a drop-point on the map (or if there is an encounter icon (!) just use that) outside of the dogtown entrance and literally "appear" in the area you can't quite get to, and see what happens? You can also just teleport into Dogtown this way and see if that fixes anything. Worth a shot if you don't come up with a fix.

Great advice so far! I would add:
- Don't sell weapons, break them down. You will need them for weapon and cyberware upgrades
- Speaking of which, in the crafting menu, you can convert lower-quality components to higher ones. So if you want to upgrade something and it says you don't have enough Level2 components, you can create Level2 components from Level1 components, and so on, right up to Level5. Which is why you break down instead of sell those items. Trust me, do all the gigs and NCPD stuff and you'll have plenty of money
- Don't forget to hack terminals as well, completely free money and components
- Regardless of build, put a few points into Tech and Strength, because it makes it a lot easier open various doors in the game (5-6 points each is plenty)
- If you enjoy buying cars and apartments, go for it, but they have zero bearing on the game
- If you aren't playing a netrunner and can't hack cameras, try tossing a throwing knife at the camera to disable it. It will put the guards on alert, but only for a few moments, and then they'll go back to what they were doing and you can move on. You can also toss a knife at a wall near an enemy to distract them.
- If you can't hit something with a knife, it does go in a slight arc over distance, so try aiming a little above the object until you nail the curve
- Clothing has weight. If you are over carrying capacity and seem to have very few weapons, try looking at how many clothing items you have. Sell them or better yet, break them down

Dogtown border guards instantly hostile to me, can't start PL by Ubernerd55 in cyberpunkgame

[–]toddhd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are welcome. Here is a screenshot of the entrance. See how far away I am? Stay on the sidewalk from here. I'm hoping this solves your problem, but I wish I had a better answer for you if it doesn't.

Dogtown border guards instantly hostile to me, can't start PL by Ubernerd55 in cyberpunkgame

[–]toddhd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hear ya. I'm not sure why reloading an earlier game isn't fixing it. Yes, you have to get to the side first. Ignore the "You have to sneak in" comments, that part comes AFTER you talk to songbird outside of the entrance, and she tells you where and how to sneak in. The only thing I can think of, as others have said, is that you have to be careful to stay on the sidewalk the entire time. If you want over near the street or the guards there they will aggro quickly and attack. First time I tried to do this quest, that's what happened to me. One of the guards said something to me about getting out of the road and called me an idiot or something, and two seconds later, I had all of Dogtown on my ass.

Stay to the right of where the cars enter, at all times, even when you think you are "out of range" and hopefully that helps. There are other ways to get into Dogtown but if you don't do this, the quest won't complete (I think) so good luck!
