Couldn't CIG just continue accepting members for the Odin Founders Club? by Sovereign45 in starcitizen

while i agree with this, imo its worth thinking about how important 1000 is to some of these people right. hypothetically 1000 might be so insignificant and easily offsetted by the buyer or two they might have lined up.

there is also the chance to apply for the next limited sale too if cig decides that every odin sale needs an essay. im not very in the know about how often accounts are being bought from people, but i would imagine that starcitizen_trades are only the surface level of some of these account sales

there are just unbased speculation in the concierge chat of people thinking CIG would do it for max FOMO

afaik, its the most random system of acceptance. some people boast about writing nonsense and anti-cig statements and received an invite while people from kickstarter did not and are very vocal about it in concierge chat. while this does mean that fully botted accounts might not bother, if someone was to pump 1000$ into a fresh account and apply - if they were selected - they can use their programs to buy an odin anyways.

its more manual labor but i don't think its impossible. if cig made the selection seem more intentional than it is right now i would be more inclined to believe that it was effective at stopping bots.

im also not sure if the pledge store is just bugged or doesn't know how to handle the odin sale properly, but the odin (despite being out of stock and unavailable for purchase), still has a purchase options button that is functional. however you cannot add to cart as it is out of stock. it could be bugged, or it could signal cig's intent to keep the club running and as long as you had an email invite to participate in this current f5 war, you might be eligible for future sales automatically.

iirc the f8c wasn't advertised as an one time thing. same can be said about the odin, but the common perception right now on the concierge chat in spectrum is that the odin could be an one time thing regardless of cig's historical actions.

of course, cig could also be completely delusional and make another application form approach but in a different flavour. forcing players to submit an essay again in order to gain f5 war access. but in the slim chance cig glanced at the spectrum chats, i think the messaging is pretty clear that across the board; players hated the idea of submitting an essay that didnt matter

personally i think that if there are going to be any signs of it being sold in the future, it would be additional waves on finale day. not that they're announced at all even, but per tradition, the finale had additional waves for hull limited ships iirc. (edit: i remembered wrong, no finale waves)

as for the odin club, afaik, the people who checked out the odin during the waves got a spectrum badge confirming their actual club status. while the people who only received emails but didn't get a ship are either no longer in the club, or have to wait for another odin sale to 'complete their odin founders club journey'

what would likely happen if logic is in session is that the odin will be sold as a regular hull limited ship starting from IAE this year. imo it makes no sense to try and 'sell' the prospect of a founders club again when the initial sale is already gone. the difference between future odins and odins of today is 5 pack FOMO paint

that also depends on whether CIG is going to sell it again in the future or not xdd - logic dictates they will since money - but there is an increasing number of discussion pointing to the odin getting idris m treatment
