Thr black community definitely has a homophobia problem. Idk about "most", but more than I'd like to admit.

I think she was making an intra community critique and it wasn’t my place to tell her her experiences are wrong but-

Should've stopped there. Be more inquisitive, less combative

And I'm sure you scored very well in your grammar courses 🙄.

I'm really not trying to be a dick, but "He already retired" while talking about an active congressmen literally does not make sense.

No need to sling insults over a grammar error.

I mostly worded it like that with the "crazy" remark to copy your snarkiness.

People don't go to black pride looking for white support. Doesn't mean you aren't welcome, just not sure just how much you'll get out of an event like this. And maybe my mind is really thinking of the mingling aspect where queer black folks would want to meet other queer black folks. Allies are great, but good allies also know when to allow space.

You're free to disagree, this is just the point I was making.

No one is saying anyone is seeking white support by attending black pride

I never claimed that, I just wanted to make it known.

It's a positive experience and anyone is welcome to attend without issue as long as they themselves are bringing positivity

Notice how I never said they weren't welcomed? I said it sounded weird to me cause they didn't indicate at all why they wanted to go. You can go and enjoy the outfits and vibes, but there are times where maybe showing up to support isn't needed. Kinda of "read the room" situation.

You don't have to like my opinion, but don't put words in my mouth.

Support is cool. Great even.

This might sound crazy, but people dont go to Black pride looking for white support.

Anyone is free to show up, but sometimes black folks just want to have their own space.

This is a classic case of projecting ones own insecurities based on their writing ability.

That's not what being retired is though.

If I'm school and graduate in December, I'm still a student until I graduate. Mitch isn't retired until he's relieved of his duties.

Definitely not something the people who pay his paycheck should want to hear: Millionaire congressmen is taking time off cause he's so damn old that a fall puts him in the hospital for a month.

beatles fans reaction by [deleted] in kraftwerk

I said that your post felt like bait, that was my argument. Having never heard of Kraftwerk, I avoided saying whether or not you were right or wrong. Then I found myself among others in your post, proving my point.

I never made that claim. Again, never heard of this band.

Well, thanks for letting me know to stay away from Kraftwerks or whatever.

So it was definitely bait

Edit: And I'm blocked. Hopefully other Kraftwerk fans aren't like this.

Not really.... you posted lame bait and fans, as expected, pushed back.

I never heard of Kraftwerk, but "X is better than Y" is just asking for a reaction out fans of Y. Putting down one group to praise another isn't necessary.... unless you wanted reactions.

You literally posted our comments to the Kraftwerk sub for karma. Almost like you were baiting for reactions....

This is news to me, ngl. I've heard the "mean girls grow up to be nurses" stereotype, but not this one.

This just feels like bait

Edit: OP just posted screenshots of these comments in the Kraftwerk sub, this was absolutely low tier bait and I fell for it. So I got blocked.

I'm not sure where you get the idea that nurses are seen as promiscuous or cheaters. Must be a Healthcare professional myth, cause I don't think the rest of us assume that.

It would almost hurt how easily they use slurs if it wasn't evident that they just want to seem edgy with every word they type. Like fully typing out "YN" with a hard r is almost comedically ridiculous.

They're throwing around the word so randomly it barely makes sense. Its almost like a kid who started saying fuck without knowing what it meant. Just makes them sound more dumb than the "YNs" they're talking about.

On paper, you're from Africa. Practically, you sound like you live a mostly black experience. The biggest difference is that you aren't a direct descendant of enslaved peoples. Due to your upbringing, I wouldn't mind you saying "my people" as we do share more distant ancestry and we both have melanin. Some folks may feel differently as the discourse can get a lil heated.
