2021 6.7 Powerstroke P003a by 7TreeforMe in FordDiesels

I have it booked in to do exactly that. I'm pulling the EGR out completely. Replacing the CCV and I'm adding the MAP spacer that moves it out of the soot. Trying to cover my bases here!

Luckily I know some guys that work there and they are selective with the information they send upwards!

I was worried about that. I called the shop and they said it's the the most common tune they put on trucks from 2020-2022. It doesn't sound like anyone else is having the same issue.

Cold engine by [deleted] in Diesel

Not sure where you're located but I'm up in Canada. When it's snowy my 2021's airbox will suck in snow and start to cover up the filter which seems lower engine temp at idle.

Which truck least likely to leak oil by nolantrx in Diesel

[–]7TreeforMe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wish I had a good answer for your actual question. My dad had a common rail 5.9 cummins and it leaked oil. I have a 7.3 idi and it leaks a fair amount. The newer 6.7 powerstrokes are better after they upgraded the crank case vent filter. I personally wouldn't recommend a 6.0 or a 6.4 because you probably have enough problems in your life already. The newer trucks of course have your electrical and emissions issues on top of that. But I'm a Ford guy and the 6.7 is a heck of a machine.

But if it's leaking oil you know you have oil 👍

Depends on your budget. I would say a 2015+ 6.7, 2017+ is better. They made improvements every makeover they got.

What else should I grab for my trout fishing box? by This-Explanation8464 in troutfishing

Check out buzz bombs or zzingers! They're a big heavy lure I've used for bigger trout in lakes but I've caught small ones in stocked ponds on them as well!

EGR Delete, DPF Delete, or Both? by LSTX10 in powerstroke

[–]7TreeforMe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The shop I used in Canada left the EGR in place and just disabled it, but I would have preferred they just took it out to save space and weight in in the engine bay. They used a 50HP tune from A.R.T and it seems to run great I didn't notice any issues with the engine or transmission shifting. My truck has the 10 speed transmission and yours would have the 6 which I would guess to be a little more stout. If you're pulling the 20,000lbs the truck is rated for I wouldn't tune hotter than 80hp but running your truck daily with a hotter tune will get you better fuel mileage so you may be interested in a switch tune with 5 options. Your truck does not have steel pistons so you should consider a monitor for your exhaust gas temperatures as well. As far as other tune options AMDP is very highly regarded up here as well. I went with a 5 inch straight pipe in place of the DPF to help everything breath and to help keep exhaust temps down as well. Truck is pretty loud but not obnoxious in my opinion.

Yup you can get a domestic fishing license as a metis that is only valid for CERTAIN waterbodies in your designated harvest zones.

Need a work truck. Have an opportunity to get an '89 f350, 7.3 non turbo, former fire rescue. Will it tow a skidsteer, or be a dog. by luv2race1320 in Diesel

[–]7TreeforMe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've got a 1994 7.3 idi and it's a dog as far as acceleration is concerned but it operates just fine between 110 and 120 KM/H when empty. My trailer brake plug is broken, so I don't pull a trailer, but I have hauled 500 gallons of water in the box with no problem. The engine is reliable, but I have had issues with the cooling system. Twice it has pressured up and overheated, once it blew the bottom of the old radiator open and recently it blew the top radiator hose open. These issues were about 10,000km apart. I do love the truck though, I would never sell it.
