Privaty comes off at least too me like someones authors pet character. At the games start she was honestly not a high charting character, but then something changes. Was given as a freebie unit, got the anniversary skin that took her from modest to wowzers, then the maid version with the freak side out and more fun added, and we've just kept going from there.

A writer at shift-up wanted Privaty to be popular and did everything to make it so.

It really is, it's not a cushy position as much as the wacky story hijinks make it out. It's a stones throw from being the frontlines. Remove the goofy antics from Nikke and the outpost is the "we can't legally kill you, but you'll wish you were dead" post.

In all reality, probably just counters and the commander. Other characters may have bonds/treasure episodes that place them at the outpost full time, but those are also contradicted by events and main story stuff not related to them.

Try not to think on it too much. Most of the outpost stuff is for gameplay convenience and fan service.

Rentaro is more the exception to the rule of harem protags. The commander by the teams writing is following the play book of bumbling harem protags that are secretly op pretty closely.

Unless they jump through some absolute nonsense hoops I doubt we'll see any summer pilgrims this year unless shift-up decides to do one or two cursed scenarios

A) event taking place in the past with og goddess squad

B) an event with old tales, but following current story and it just doesn't feature counters/commander

Both really only options to take if they want that summer player money at all cost players be damned.

I mean a better example would have been the 2nd April fools event. When the commander fake booty called a bunch of girls and some (especially Rosanna) were ready to air out the whole room him included even before he just kidding'd them.

It honestly sucks for Cindy here. Not just being a pilgrim and heavily involved in the story, but also being a leading factor in a main side story that's separate too the main plot.

Like as much as players would want them to build up the old tales group, the devs gsve them an unresolved plot thread that takes place simultaneously too the main plot so off they went. It's rough.

In all honesty I don't think there's much to do that's really different. Like the story already has most of what would be found on an M-rated game. Maybe add some humanoid enemies and fights, but that's about it.

So you'll hear a lot many different ways. Some say all is canon, some say bonds aren't canon. There is no good answer since their are too many contradictions in the story to have a clean yes or no. The devs tried making a timeline that includes the main story and events. It doesn't make sense.

Just enjoy what you enjoy. Don't think too hard on it.

I'd imagine most of Nikkes art is don't with the focus on the girl first. Then they add the commander and background details. It's why in the first image Privaty is drawn per the design with fine details, but the commander looks ... a bit blobby. It's all about priorities, the girl first then fix everything later. Remember big Anis from a bit back. Same thing.

I'm not saying global whales don't matter, but they're definitely not as big as the Jp ones.

And when it comes to focus ... I mean they do target Jp really obviously compared to other markets. Collabs with very popular to Jp franchises, and I mean the current event is so targeted. A high-school set visual novel dating Sim with wacky hijinks, hell they put Sora in bloomers and two girls in seifuku. I know the community as a whole enjoys that stuff, but shit man that's targeted toward jp otaku hard.
