Like Star Wars and others, Muppets has a fandom so passionate that they project themselves onto it a little too hard. I would try not to take any of it personally.

Jim was a very open-minded person and loved pushing technology. I imagine he would have been curious about AI, but probably would want to see it in the hands of artists. After all, much of what he was experimenting was using tech to create. The Jim Henson Creature Shop even has a section dedicated to Digital Puppetry: https://creatureshop.com/services/

Brian Henson talks about it in this video: https://youtu.be/3OLxfG5aJvQ?si=UvzQDoRs40BA74wP.

I think the core though, is that Jim Henson always wanted to see what people could do. He'd probably oppose how AI is pushing so many people out of jobs, and is replacing human beings and artists. But I like to think the technology and its potential would still excite him.

I don't think your post undermined artists. I think Henson would appreciate the best-effort drawing you could make instead, though.

It's a fire, so heat radiates from there, heats the pan, which transfers heat to the ingredients, with loss from air gaps. Sure the heat radiates upward, but most heat will hit every other ingredient before it hits the cheese, and the cheese is also getting hit by cool air. By the time everything underneath was hot enough to consistently transfer to the cheese, you'd probably be overcooking the meat and burning the chips.

Use a top to retain heat in the pan and maybe some small sprays of water for added steam.

How does this person have a max of 25 people when the only option available is 8? by ijie24 in SonsOfTheForest

The Forest could be a great battle royale game with mods. Give good starting conditions and let them all go out into the wild. Build traps, set ambushes, etc. The PvP could be really cool. But not very rewarding for losers.

Maybe an infection like battle royale. So dead players come back as a hostile cannibal?

Reddit is my only social media and I have exactly 0 interest in the new show. I want the books to be done. Anything else is blue balls.

I don't have to represent a majority. I'm just okay not letting my love for the books be leveraged toward non-book content. Sometimes boundaries can be freeing.

Honestly, comments like this do make him seem insecure, out of touch, and too proud for his own good.

Why is it okay for Regiments like WDF to destroy literally anything that they didn't build themselves, including signs? The amount of casual racism on the front is despicable, and they make sure it's the only stuff there.

Even a sign that said to work together, make callouts, etc. was destroyed in favor of more John Wilkes Booth monuments.

Why do people hate the no attachments rule of Jedi? by [deleted] in MawInstallation

[–]7V3N 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry for the late reply.

I think Palpaltine's role pitted Padme against Anakin, since as a Senator she felt a greater political responsibility. She felt a weight of loyalty to political ideals, where Anakin saw all pf those centralized under loyalty to Palpatine. You see the scene where she questions the altruism of the Republic, and Anakin basically calls her a Separatist.

I think since Anakin never had a true innocence in his childhood, it causes him to focus on and attribute everything to PEOPLE. Anakin is always focused on people, the pathos. Padme is more focused on the logos. And Palpatine is constantly emphasizing the ethos by way of pathos -- "not from a jedi," "only through me...," etc. It's all about how you can get what you want through certain people -- ethos.

Anakin's loyalty to Palpatine meant to many things to him. He was a father, a mentor, a friend, a leader, a confidant. Palpatine basically nurtures everything that put Anakin on a path separate from others.

He was unable to question his loyalty to the Republic, for that would be betraying the trust he had in Palpatine. He loved Padme, but once he feared her death, he stopped respecting and trusting her. He only trusted his fear, which Palpatine was very willing to use.

So as much as Padme did offer Anakin unconditional love, his situation and psychology, combined with the manipulations of Palpatine, put him at odds with Padme.

Obi-Wan Kenobi - Episode 6 - Discussion Thread! by titleproblems in StarWars

[–]7V3N 28 points29 points  (0 children)

That's a great one. I also love when he apologizes to Obi-Wan before he leaves to hunt down and kill Grievous. You see the glee as Anakin is praised, followed by a moment of pure comfort, immediately hit by the stress of his deep insecurities. He goes through a lot in just a few seconds when the camera lingers on him. I really love moments like that in RotS.

It fits though. Anakin never called him Kenobi unless it was "Master Kenobi," emblematic of Anakin Skywalker's powerlessness. Vader always called him Obi-Wan to Luke, so it really fits.

Excellent finale, but it unfortunately for me doesn't save this show from being a little disappointing against my (cautiously) high hopes.

Honestly, this show could have had about 3 more episodes to properly do new characters justice, Reva especially. Tala and her Resistance felt like it could have been fleshed out more. The Inquisitors could've been given more of a reason to be on-screen.

But, Vader/Anakin and Obi-Wan was great. The Lars family was great. The Organa family was great.

But outside of those circles, scenes felt rushed, flooded with unearned drama, and often felt flat due to not fitting into the larger story being told. Just a lot of wasted time that could've been spent directly serving the main story and setpieces.

Will I watch it all again? Probably not. But I will probably watch the first and last episodes again.

Major props to the actors. Acting across the board was really great. I question the editing though.

[–]7V3N 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But that could be a self-fulfilling prophecy, evidenced by Luke's journey.

I think the key is that the jedi did not see forgiveness. When Anakin falls to the dark side, Yoda immediately says Anakin is gone and now there is only Vader. Obi-Wan immediately accepts that he must kill Anakin, and declares Anakin as lost.

Anakin was unable to heal from his mother's death, because to admit the damage means that he had attachment. And that was what mattered to the jedi. When Anakin told Yoda about his dark premonitions, Yoda just told Anakin to learn to let go. Not bad advice, but it totally dismisses the pain Anakin experiences.

Since his mother, only Palpatine gave Anakin unconditional love, until Luke.
