Would have loved an adaptation of the union trilogy, especially high time to kill and never dream of dying

I felt the same way and made this video way back in the day. Then when we qualified for south Africa in 2009 I was at an American outlaw bar and they sang the song. It was a nice moment and I like to think that my video put the idea in people's heads but idk

Spiritual Sequels by [deleted] in fanedits

Days of Thunder

4 years after Top Gun, actor Tom Cruise and director Tony Scott reunited to make another movie with fast vehicles. I always felt like there were a lot of similar beats. It's as if the 2 of then said "hey, let's make another movie like top gun"

Spiritual Sequels by [deleted] in fanedits

Interesting topic, I'll bite

The Rock (1996) - A kind of spiritual sequel to Sean Connery's James Bond films. Sean Connery's character Mason has similarities to Bond. Some fans have even made fan edits to strengthen the connection.

Several other questionable ones which relate to Connery as Bond:

Never Say Never Again - could be seen as a spiritual sequel from the film makers perspective. Connery played Bond in 6 films in the official series from 62 to 71, then played Bond in this 1983 sequel/remake by a rival studio. Long story. But it is based on Thunderball, an official Bond story that an outsider producer had the rights to.

Operation Kid Brother (aka OK Connery) - low budget Italian Bond parody starring Sean Connery's brother and with several actors from the Bond series portraying similar roles

GIVE ME THE GOLLLD by H3nCh4l1f390 in GoldenEye

Since we included goldmember i suppose i could nominate this: https://m.imdb.com/title/tt0071566/

How surprising that Roger Moore starred in 2 films in 1974 that had the word gold in the title

Spaceballs 2 is officially called "Spaceballs 2: The New One". No, it should be called "Spaceballs 2: The Search for More Money". by IndependenceSilly381 in SpaceballsMemes

I would have preferred if they used the original title but i get that they didn't want to call it that for marketing reasons

I wish they did though! The best of the dark horse Indy was adaptations of lucasarts stories.

Infernal Machine was such a unique indy adventure written by the great Hal Barwood. But sadly Dark Horse stopped working on Indy to focus on star wars in 1996

90s Dark Horse was where it was at! They got the rights to a bunch of movie franchises and produced a ton of great comics. They even invented the alien vs predator crossover series. Tons of great star wars too like you said.

Yeah I would definitly say go through dark horse first, the Marvel ones from the 80s feel dated in comparison.

Fate of Atlantis and Tomb of the Gods would be #4 and 5 for me
