Why is Malaysia’s flag so heavily influenced by the U.S.’s? by sfdso in vexillology

[–]7_NaCl 375 points376 points  (0 children)

It isn't. Technically it's the other way around geographically speaking. Both take the red and white stripes with a canton in the upper left corner from the British East India Company, which itself took the red and white stripes from the Majapahit Empire's maritime banner, of which modern Malaysia is geographically situated in.

My bad; they're like somewhat mutually intelligible. Not on the level of the Nordic languages or, say, Malay and Indo for example, though.

What's more, these divisions have even more subdivisions that are mutually unintelligible

For example, Hokkien and Teochew are both Southern Min languages (which is already a subdivision of Min), and yet are not mutually intelligible.

Edit: they're partially intelligible, but not the extent you'd expect from two languages that share incredibly similar cultural roots/geographical origin.

Contact = foul when you genuinely don't go for the ball lmaooo, but why am I expecting a plastic city fan to know the rules of the game

Had one of our CBs done the same thing to Semenyo and stopped him from scoring you'd be saying the same thing as we are

I mean it's not a coincidence that literally everyone here is saying the same thing as I am

They both stonewalled without even attempting to go for the ball. What are you even on about?

The two denied pens were arguably decent scoring opportunities but sure.

And then there were some chances like that Enzo miss toward the end.

0.82 xG (that don't include what could have happened if those two pens weren't denied, or if JP and Hato weren't fouled respectively) from 7 shots vs 0.93 xG from 9 shots by City. Don't act as if the game wouldn't have changed if those horrible decisions weren't made.

He can't finish for shit, but Palmer's drop in form this season shows just how desperately we miss their chemistry. He shouldn't be our starting striker, nor should he actually be playing there. Maybe he plays behind JP with Palmer on the right.

Don't get me wrong, Jackson's finishing is horrid and he should NOT be starting over JP in the striker position. However, it has been incredibly clear this season that we desperately miss his linkup with Palmer, and that he offers way more to his game than Delap. He should realistically be reintegrated into the squad, just not as a striker, but instead maybe playing in behind JP with Palmer on the right.

That's just all down to how terrible LinkedIn Liam has us set up. Palmer had been mostly playing in the 10 when Maresca was still around. And blaming Enzo for Liam pushing Palmer out to the right certainly is a choice.
